I've wanted to try this coffee shop because it's black-owned and I've heard the drinks are amazing. My friend and I decided to try it, and we felt we had struck gold because there were only two other people in front of us. Let me begin by stating that everyone has difficult days, but it does not give you the right to be disrespectful. The owner Tiffany received both my friend's and I's orders, and from the first welcoming and my asking her how she was doing, I knew someone had pissed in that lady's coffee this morning. I shrugged off her attitude because bad days happen to everyone, but she was getting worse by the minute. After I finished putting my order, my friend began placing his, and WHEW! You'd think he snatched her firstborn kid. My friend was asking her questions about her chicken waffle sandwich, which he did in a way that made us both blink lol, but he asked her what type of bread it was on, and as he was about to clarify whether it was a specialized type of waffle, she stated very aggressively, "What do you mean? "It's a Chicken Waffle, Waffle." As he is describing, he is wondering about a flavor. She rolls her eyes, breathes deeply, interrupts him again, and says, "Do you want it or not" At this moment, I am ready to go. My friend waved it off but gave me a look to calm down because I HATE poor customer service. We finish ordering and then take a seat. The woman in front of us proceeds to talk to the other cashier, a young woman, about how the prices she was charged did not match the pricing on the menu. The young woman apologizes and goes to the back to question the owner about it. You can hear her shouting at this girl that the menu prices are incorrect and need to be corrected, so what she charged her was accurate. I'm thinking to myself, "Oh, this isn't just us; she's rude." In my perspective, if the price is displayed, you should honor it. My friend and I sat next to the customer and her son, and he expressed his dissatisfaction with the shop owing to the owner's rudeness, high prices, and long wait periods. The only reason he was there was because his mother wanted to go. I'll say I enjoyed the meal and drink, but I'm not coming back. I love to support us, but I can't justify poor customer service, which was demonstrated not only to me but to others. SA special thanks to the young woman at the register who was nice, cordial, and humble; the owner could learn a thing or two from you. Tiffany, I hope you heed this feedback and make some changes in how you treat customers. I had heard that you could be nicer, but I wanted to see for myself, and unfortunately, you proved them correct.
Update: Response to Owner Reading is extremely essential. In my response, I shared my personal experience with you, as well as that of the man and woman customer who were in front of us ( they ordered the 5 sandwiches). The man who was with the woman who ordered five sandwiches had expressed his dissatisfaction with us when he came to sit down. From your response you clearly lack accountability and have a horrible attitude. To answer your "racist" claims, it is still clear that you did not read or comprehend. I came to support your black business I intended to write a fantastic review, but you gave me a horrible experience from beginning to end. Again, I did not let any negative experiences that I heard deter me from visiting your establishment; rather, your attitude did. No worries on my end because me and mine will not be visiting your establishment. You would think with the lack of foot traffic you would do better but I see that mouth of yours will be your...
Read moreWe placed an order online. 1 Muffin, 2 sandwiches (bagel , croissant), 1 cinnamon roll, 1 order of hashbrowns and 3 drinks. Online said 25 - 30 minutes for order to be ready. We get to the restaurant at the time order should be ready. My daughter goes inside to pick it up. The lady at the front desk asked my daughter to read off the order and then started to cook the order. She stopped preparing our order to make someone elseâs order that walked in after my daughter. After 40 minutes of waiting, I walked inside to ask my daughter what was going on. She said the lady was rude and didnât speak up and never apologized for the delay. I stood there for about 15 minutes and the lady finally appears from the back. She looks upset and barely made eye contact then says hereâs all of your order. I then ask her if it typically takes an hour after ordering to get items, she then proceeded to tell me if I didnât have certain things in the order it would be ready and blamed me for the time it took to make everything.
The lady had an attitude the entire time with my daughter then later with me. She never apologized for the delay nor did she seem to care. I understand things happen and come up but donât blame the customer for your poor performance.
Food: we ordered 2 sandwiches (1 croissant and 1 bagel) and received 2 bagel sandwiches. My son said the cinnamon roll was under cooked, nasty and doughy. My daughterâs muffin was extremely dry and was flat. Her muffin looked like it didnât rise properly and it definitely wasnât prepared recently. My husbandâs hashbrowns were not prepared at the restaurant, it looked like they came from Walmarts freezer section and was cooked on the grill and mashed up like hash brown. Issue is, online it looks like potatoes / home fries that they serve at restaurant not a freezer hashbrown product from Walmart. The eggs in both of the sandwiches tasted funny, canât quite explain it but something was off. Drinks were alright, kids liked their drinks (Carmel and Oreo frappes)
I understand possibly having a bad day, being understaffed etc, but they wasnât busy for the whole hour we was there nor did I see any orders prepared from online sitting on the counter waiting to be picked up. With the combination of bad food and bad service, we wonât be returning.
Update to owners response below - I was more concerned with your attitude and response to the delay. Additionally the food was terrible and then to add on top of that no customer service. My daughter said she wasnât even greeted when she walked in. Asking my daughter to go inside to PICK UP an order that is said to be ready and already paid for is 100% ok at every business except yours, apparently. My daughter was very kind and polite. I cannot say the same for you. We ordered two sandwiches, one of which was made wrong, not due to the special request but due to the cook (you) putting it on the wrong bread. The order was wrong and bakery items were terrible, per both of my kids. You wonât have to worry about any of this anymore because we will never order from here again. I will also share this experience with my friends and family so they donât make the...
Read moreThis is why people donât want to support small businesses. Nearly 2 dollars TO ADD ICE TO A DRINK?? A medium latte would come out to nearly $10 and they expect a tip on top of that. I decided to just get ice cream when I saw that she was charging for ice and she said âIf you want the drink, get the drink.â Iâm gonna get what I want to get and if I donât want to pay $10 for a latte I donât have to. The owner was unbelievably rude to both me and her employee. Her employee forgot to ask about their rewards program and she was correcting her in front of the customers. That is very unprofessional and I know because Iâve worked in the food industry. You would think that someone who just opened a business will go above and beyond to get their name out there and make the experience positive. This place was recommended to me by a friend and instead of gaining a customer, she just lost more because I will not recommend this place to my friends.
