IHOP — Restaurant in Charlotte

i went in with my boyfriend on sunday at about noon, our server (maria i believe) was handing the check out to an 8 top right next to us, asked what we would like to drink, too which we said we still needed a minute. the 8 top left roughly 5 minutes later, and our server was no where to be found. him and i probably sat for another 15 minutes before she came and asked for our order. i ordered an ice coffee, asking for creamer to come alongside. when she finally came back with out drinks she forgot my creamer, not a big deal, i’m a server myself and have done the damn job i get it. she disappeared, speaking to her 4 top. we waited another 15 minutes and she didn’t show up so i sent my boyfriend to ask someone for creamer. once we got our food, she didn’t show back up. i was given the wrong sausage, my boyfriend is celiac and had concerns regarding cross contamination. the two tables next to us, who had another server, were sat after us and already gathering their checks by the time we even got our food. her 4 tops food came out right after ours. she was dedicating her total attention to a 4 top instead of her other tables. once me and boyfriend finished we waited another 15/20 minutes for our check. i needed a to-go box. she never checked in to make sure we were doing alright. she was sat another 4 top, put their order in and disappeared for another 10 minutes. finally she drops the check off, before even asking if we were completed or if the check was together it separate. she scurried off before i could even ask for a box. i got up to ask for a box, another server was the girl who grabbed it for me. once my man went to pay for the check, we had to wait for someone to come to the front. overall i have never had such awful service anywhere. i understand being weeded and i understand kitchen issues, but the only tables that were stuck waiting were hers. overall just disappointed. the oreo waffle was really...

We had a very bad experience at IHOP yesterday.

On arrival, we gave our names to the counter and they said they would call us as soon as our table was ready. That call came a good hour later!

Next, the waitress comes to take our order. I asked her if the new Grilled Tilapia with broccoli was dairy free. She said yes. She also said she would add a note on our order as "dairy free". It never occurred to me that she was unsure. It just made me feel she knew what she was talking about and wanted to make sure the order was gonna be -completely dairy free.

After some waiting, our dishes come, and she gives me my dish- grilled tilapia, only no broccoli or rice. Instead, it had mashed potatoes next to the fish. And she says "the mashed potatoes have dairy in it". We were surprised, so my spouse asked her why she would give us a dish with dairy in it when we had quite specifically said we wanted it "dairy-free".

She then says that's what the cook put in. Then I spoke to her and said that I get very, very sick when I eat dairy, I can't have all this contamination of dairy on my plate, even if its a side dish. And her reply was that, "well if I told the kitchen to make it dairy free, and they still put it in there, there is nothing I can do about it".

Very rude and very dismissal of her.

What does she mean there is nothing she can do about it? The attitude of this young woman was really upsetting for me

We had to endure a really long time wait, followed by a mistake in my order, and then putting up with really rude behavior by the waitress. I will give this place a...

So I ordered ahead bc I had a busy morning. I asked for something very simple. A Best French Toast combo with strawberry and banana on the side. I showed up and it wasn't on the side so they had to remake it and I waited 15 mins. While I sat there I watched how this place was ran and I was a bit disturbed. I heard 2 of the severs cuss out loud in front of children. One was a server speaking to her customers as they checked out. She was joking w these men about how they were "cheap asses" bc they didn't leave her a big tip. Maybe she knew them but it was still very unprofessional. Then I watched the same girl come back up to ring out a few groups of people bc there wasn't anyone hosting that day. At breakfast!? You're kidding me. She was on her way to a table tho and instead of going there first she placed the creps next to the register while she rang people out and then forgot about them. A few minutes later she picked them pack up and delivered it to her table (cold at this point). Finally my order was ready and the male sever was very friendly but he was new and left all alone. You could tell he didn't know what he was doing yet. He couldn't even ring me out alone so we waited again for someone to come up and help. FINALLY it was over and once I looked in my bad I had no silverware, napkins, butter, or a receipt. Also my eggs and bacon were cold bc they didn't remake al of it. Just the French toast.
