Nick and Mike Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Charlotte

I am not going to give a bad star as I have been to this establishment several times and have truly enjoyed. However on last night my fiance and I had a not so pleasant experience there. The bartender with the (dreads) I can't remember her name is sweet and VERY professional. On last night we had a horrible experience with another bartender. We brought the issue to the server attention and she seem to be bothered that we brought it to her attention to the point she went to the security ....for whatever reason. I decided to just pay for my drinks and I didn't eat the food that we order.

I love to support businesses and see them do well. But remember attitude and professionalism plays a big part.

In response to your reply: My review was not to air out anything negative. Which is why I gave 5 stars. My review was for my experience which wasn't that pleasant this time. Your server was not honest with you to state that we gave her a hard time from the time we came in due to needing more space. When we came in your first 3 tables were available which is right next to the security guard. We never asked your server anything about seating or a table. I asked the security if we could sit there as the tables weren't cleaned off as customers had just left that very spot and we didn't mind because we just wanted a seat. And you all do have a crowd everytime I have visit (which is great) Your security nodded yes. So again this isn't to bash. There were only 4 people in my party but there was space for 6 people so that doesn't really make sense. But I'm sure you saw that on the video footage. My fiance was NOT pleased with his drink before or after but I suggested that he just order something else. I was not present for what was said etc at the bar because I did not go up there. The issue was not the drink. The issue was when your bartender came by the table with her purse and made a not so professional gesture. I am sure you saw that as well on the footage. I am assuming because this is a google review we are omitting that part. I informed the server that I wasn't sure what happened at the bar but I was very much present for the gesture. It was loud and clear. I am not concerned that your server spoke to security. Yes we did decide that we would leave at that point. The manager did come over and I let her know that we would not be staying but I did not and no one else in my party said a word about why we were leaving. At that point it didn't matter. She did take the food off of our ticket (that we never touched) his drink was comp and my drink was paid for as well as the other 2 people that were with us. Again this wasn't to bash or air out anything if so I would have not given 5 stars. But thank for your response and I appreciate how you stand with your staff even if the details isn't accurate. No other other...

I was in town for a concert and decided to head here afterwards to wait out traffic and have drinks and food with my party. Understandably, the place was busy so we settled in at the bar and opened a tab. Shortly after we all ordered food. An hour went by and I still haven't received my food and I was seen tables come and go while I waited patiently. I even ordered a basic quesadilla and paid in advance so it could be quick and I could take it to go and it was still delayed. No one check on us, offered a glass of water, a napkin, nothing. A member of my party requested a manager and the owner came over and took my order again. Well at that point I've been waiting over an hour for a QUESADILLA and it was 1am and I was exhausted and starving and my party was bored and ready to leave so I asked for a refund. The owner saw me request my refund, brought out my food finally, and questioned the server about it and hovered over her while she processed it. Then as I was gathering my belongings I noticed he was watching me to see if I would take the food anyway. I realized that he was watching to see what I do so I took my time putting my wallet away. I guess he couldn't wait any long and rushed the table and snatched the bag of food away right in front of me. My party and I left and waited outside for our ride. While waiting, I could see the owner still watching me from inside so I decided to point him out for being petty to my party. He rushed out of the building to explain why he snatched the food away and I told him that there was no need for a discussion. I was a customer, I ordered, I paid, I waited, I waited, I waited some more, I asked for a refund and I left without food or eating. He tried to blame his servers and they were terrible, but why would it be on a customer to compensate for bad service and still leave empty handed? I guess he needed...

Pros: I enjoyed the cheese sticks, the wings and fries were a bit salty but overall good. I had the turkey burger which was also good. Cons: I read reviews before heading to check out the restaurant myself and one of the things that made me want to go was that multiple people were saying that the drinks were strong and worth the price, well idk if I didn't get the right bartender or what but both drinks that I had taste like juice and mixer. I first had the long island ice tea which I sent back immediately and replaced with with a tequila sunrise my fiancee had to do the same. My fiancee had to order a shot of tequila which was an additional $9 (more than the drink itself) to add to it to make it taste like something. We had to ask for straws, ketchup, and ranch from a different waitress because the waitress we had would always disappear when we asked for something and would always return after we had gotten our request fulfilled by someone else. Idk if the man who was working was the co-owner but he walked by our table a few times and just stared at us in our face never saying anything or even smiling and would take off to cater to other people. He did finally ask us how everything was but at that point we were so over the experience we just said fine and paid and left. I spent close to $80 which I generally don't mind but with the experience I had it felt like I just wasted the money. I really hope things get better there because I want the business to succeed, I'm just not sure I will be willingly to come back anytime soon if I'm spending my own money. Maybe I can give it another try on someone...
