Extremely disappointed in this meal/experience today.
I didn't care for the Caesar salad dressing. Not a major deal by itself.
Ordered a loaded baked potato. Asked for all the toppings except bacon. The amount of sour cream I got seemed to be about a teaspoon or less. That's the one item I needed the most. It's a little dry without sour cream, in my opinion.
But what really disappointed me was the fact that the Sydney Shrooms were spicy and I cannot eat them. I saw nothing on the menu that said anything about them being even the slightest bit spicy. Why does Outback make everything so darn spicy??? I ordered them today with much anticipation, because when I ate them in-house in a different Outback several months ago they were perfect! Not spicy in the slightest and cooked to a golden, crispy light brown. They were amazing! Definitely a favorite. On this order today the breading looked overcooked but it was just dark and soggy and anytime I bit into one liquid would come out. It seems as though they were not drained after being washed and/or not dried off in the slightest. Frankly, I don't know how they got the breading to even stick. So what even was that mess I got today?!
Had I been eating inside the restaurant I would have sent back the salad and asked for a different side, I would have asked for more sour cream for the baked potato, and I would have asked them to make me a new NON-SPICY order of the Shrooms and prepare them properly.
So, overall, after spending $40+ I couldn't eat most of what I ordered and I'm not too happy right now. I certainly cannot afford to throw that kind of money away.
The strawberry lemonade was good but with the cup half full of ice I didn't get nearly as much as I would've liked. ☹️
Update: I just read a response to my review from Outback. They acted like I did nothing but praise them left and right and they cheered my "positive" review. Obviously they did not even bother to read a word of it. Now I'm really pissed off. I will never ever go back to any of their restaurants. They are pathetic. I gave them several second chances several years ago over a long period of time and I always had bad experiences with their food. So I stayed away from them for many many years, up until a couple months ago when I went out that one day for lunch with friends. And then today. They are back on my naughty list. Not going back ever. I just took away one of their stars. This location's manager doesn't even know the correct name of the street the...
Read moreFirst of all- it was 2:30 in the afternoon and they were on a “wait”. Yet had probably 25 tables open. We spent a total of 2 hours 20 mins for “lunch”. I asked for a kids menu (server come back 20+ mins later with one). I had already went and got one from Hostess. We never had silverware. I ended up getting some from Another table. On my order I specifically asked for no mushrooms due to a dietary issue- I get mushrooms. I immediately sent it back. Another 30 mins for my food to come back out to which it was undercooked. And gave me FOOD POISONING! That was the only thing I had eaten - and was sick very shortly after eating it. I asked if it was done and was assured it was. It wasn’t! The ranch was very spicy. I am not sure what was done differently but it was bad. The server was very overwhelmed. She had a big party and seemed to stay at that table most her time. Leaving us with empty drinks and not be taken care of.
She come back with the ticket. By that time we were so ready to go. Lunch should NEVER take 2.5 hours. Ever! She has the ticket messed up. 2 meals for my other guest, 2 meals for me. She asked if they took Off the chicken? I advised her they actually added 2 chicken for me and 2 for the other guest with me. We only got 2 not 4. She said they have to add the second chix bc of my “recook”. But the other meal wasn’t a recook so that doesn’t make sense. She was getting frustrated bc she wasn’t understanding what I was saying. She gets the manager (I didn’t ask, she just said she would get her). She sends said manager over. We advise what happened. And that we need our ticket fixed so we can go. That we had been there for 2 + hours. She immediately gets rude and started talking over us. She was rude- disrespectful and doesn’t need to be a manager. She needed to understand that we were there for FAR to long- my meal was incorrect- and our ticket was incorrect. I have very right to be frustrated.
Server needs more training. And yet all they say is “we are short staffed”. Well no wonder no one wants to work there. It’s a horrible place.
Giving you a 1 star is generous considering you Nearly killed Me with food poisoning!!
Just drive the extra 15 mins and go to the other location. Save yourself time, heartache and your...
Read moreI was having a lovely time until management stopped by my table. After, asking how our experience was, I answered: " It's Friday your restaurant is entirely understaffed. We came to celebrate ; Have a few drinks over dinner, and get a little loose. But your bartender is making these drinks up as he goes along and mostly from syup.not one has tasted like another. To we decided we'd like some wine with dinner instead of these signature Koala drinks. But our waiter gone'walkabout' & maybe a Croc got the bartender because he vanished too. Can you bring 2 glasses of red that pairs with our steaks?" I said this sarcastically and in a jovial tone trying to keep the situation light.
His reply" I'll take care of that for you sir. Sorry for the inconvenience. Be right back"
He returned and curtly told us he was cutting off from alcohol, and was refusing to serve us any more because we consumed our previous cocktails too quickly. And this was outbacks policy.
This more than annoyed me because it became obviously clear that he was using the situation as a exercise for The shadow employee that was training at his heels around the dinning room.
SERIOUSLY? THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GO TO OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE? THEIR WHOLE SLOGAN IS "No rules, just right!"
So of course I was a little miffed at being cut off before I could even finish my dinner after only two drinks!"
We told him we wanted to check & to leave us alone. He wouldn't and insisted at being quite rude at telling us he's within rights to refuse anyone if he wishes.
Handling a surly customer is one thing. Dictating how we were going to enjoy our dinner is another.
We couldn't pay & leave fast enough. I left the waiter 50%. Ain't their fault his manager is a self-stroking rude ego hound who had upset me so much I said some very naughty things.
Food was still pretty good. What...
