Avoid, stay away, do not go.
Pictures old. Marketing Crap. Huge turnover. Client for 6 years. Even thru pandemic. Salon dirty. No manager. Stylist was rude….talked about how she hated her job. Hated working on Saturday. Was shocked how I was treated. Clients =$. Treated like meat. Rarely do I do this kind of review. Likely they getting ready to go of business Do not be their last customer!
Response to owner ; I know how your system works. You have my “ cut history “ on your system via phone no. So when I call to schedule an appointment I ask your receptionist “ who cut me last ? “. Cause usually I come to you all for an hour “ treatment “….I.e. like you advertise. Meaning haircut, razor shave, wax treatment ( yuck.. hair in nose, etc).
But the” Universe “of your stylist who are trained to do the full hour service has shrunk. See,the back area of the shop is specifically designed ( hot wax cabinet, reclining chairs, separate hot towels, shave cream AND RAZORS)for the “full treatment”. One hour =cut, plus (more expensive larger tip…..cool)
Well my experience is not that “ I do not care who cuts my hair”. Rather I have an impossible time scheduling the services you offer
So…. In my opinion
(I.e. you spend the $$ to hire or train a stylist for the one hour “full service” and they leave the next month, you wasted money re their experience or training.). Plus more towels to clean, sterilizing issues, etc).
Your manager called and apologized. But I did not jump around to different stylists over the last year because I” did not care” who cut my hair “. I asked for a full service and there was a very limited number of stylists who could provide it.
Hence my comment about discouraging the full service because of financial reasons( bigger profit from cut- and- go, vs cost to train stylist re razor shave, more pay for that rare stylist who comes with that experience, etc)
Now this last visit I told your entire team….including the stylist that I needed a quick cut because I was having shoulder replacement surgery ( not to get into the weeds of this event). And I wanted a really short cut because post surgery I would not be in a position to wash my hair for a few weeks.
I told that to everyone including the stylist who I was assigned to( the last 2 or 3 people I used were “no longer with you”. )
So I was assured the stylist ( new to me) who would cut my hair was great and experienced. Well she jerked me around, knowing I had a dislocated shoulder, and mentally disappeared into her own narcissistic world. “ don’t move my head because SHE may get cut”. Long story about boyfriend’s cut fingers……Sure I was carrying on a conversation with her but god help you if she really injures a disabled or neck problem customer. Cause she really jerked my neck, shoulder and head around. Or put up a sign “ we do not cut the hair of injured or older ( me 64) people”. But you can’t discriminate like that. So instead I got assigned a stylist who treated me like meat and told me how much she hated working on Saturday and“ she had just one more”… I guess that’s the new pejorative for a $45 customer. But no manager(?). For the services and cost you charge you should always have a responsible person on site No?
Your not a $10.99 cut and go and you have the computer pay system designed to steer customers to a $20 or 20% trip.
Well that “ tip “ as you know implies good service and good management, on site oversight.
So you responded to my review but you opened the door to push me to provide an even more detailed description of how I was treated. I reiterate my...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for many years to get my haircut. I’ve had only one bad experience when I wasn’t happy with the end product. The manager let me come in for a completely free fix-up of my haircut 3 weeks later and scheduled me with one of their best barbers. They even gave me the option for the full hospitality treatment for my free visit- a refreshing adult beverage and shampoo/ scalp massage.
I make my appointments with Ash, who’s an extremely talented stylist. She’s great at what she does and I usually defer my style requests to her because I know she’ll make my hair look good either way. I enjoy the stress-free option of deferring to her judgment rather than coaching a stranger on what type of clippers they should be using on my head and hoping I don’t lose an ear.
Ash is really skilled at cutting and styling hair, but the best part about scheduling with her is that she’s genuinely really nice and has a talent for engaging with her clients in fun conversations. It’s always awkward when you go to get your haircut have to sit in silence for a half hour. Schedule your appointment with Ash for a great experience and don’t forget to...

I've never left a Yelp review before but in 10 years of getting beard trims this has never happened! First time visiting Shear Excellence and Katelyn left me with a hole in my beard. A large patch of skin is showing in the middle of my beard?!?! Won't be coming back. Don't waste your $$.
FOLLOW UP: I spoke with the owner and after showing her a picture she tried to tell me it wasn't a hole but a bad tapering job. This was not the case. There's a patch of missing hair because it was cut so short it went down to the skin. She did offer for me to come back and have them take a look but I wasn't interested in having them cut my beard again. After letting her know I didn't want to come back in she stopped responding. I wasn't looking for a refund originally but after she reached out I thought that was an appropriate thing to ask for considering it was only $10. But she wasn't willing to do that.
Eventually, I was offered a refund but only if I agreed to remove my review. I found that request to be highly...
