The place was incredibly busy, and my friend and I were understanding of the fact that we would have to wait a while to be served! However, 20 minutes go by and we watch as everyone around us (including people who have just walked up to the bar) get served and we continue to be overlooked. Eventually, I stood up a little bit (we were seated at the bar) and waved my hand. The bartender with several tattoos (I believe she has a rose on her neck), turned around and nastily said someone would be with us in a second. She then proceeded to walk over to the register (she's still in full view of us), turn around to one of the other bartenders, and began to VERY OBVIOUSLY talk about me (again, she was still in my line of sight, and her face was turned towards me). At that point, after waiting 20 minutes to be served, only to then be openly sh*t talked, we left. I also work in the service industry, and I understand when things are incredibly busy it can be very stressful. But after genuinely being SEATED AT THE BAR and ignored for 20 minutes, I can't believe how awful the service was. I would never DREAM of talking about a customer when they could STILL SEE ME. I will not be returning, and I am so...
Read moreI've lived across from this place for a year and a half, and have only been twice. While the beer is okay (there is much better beer/breweries throughout Charlotte, even in a 5 mile radius from this place) and the food trucks are usually pretty good, the music is horrendous. I highly recommend driving to the original location in South End because the vibes, the staff, and my god, the music is eons better. Hearing Nickelback and/or a man yelling at you along to a sub-par beat literally every day while I work from home and try to live my life has made me never want to come here ever again. If I ever invited friends to meet us here for drinks I'd be so embarrassed, especially if they had kids as it is definitely not kid friendly. We even mentioned something last time we were at the South End location and the staff said they've even tried saying something to them here in NoDa, but nothing has changed. Save yourself and go to Heist, Free Range, or NoDa Brewing Co., unless you're into that kind of thing, in which case, this place was...
Read moreI’m so glad we got lost on our way to Idlewild. We stumbled upon The Chamber in NoDa by accident in search of a referred cocktail bar, but we never made it there because we were having too great of a time at this brewery! Our bartender Brett was extremely hospitable and helpful and pointed us in the right direction almost immediately, but spent the rest of our evening with the friendly faces at The Chamber and I’m 100% confident that was a much better choice! The bartenders made excellent recommendations based on our preferences, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have found a beer I didn’t like there.
The indoor space is pretty grand. The outdoor space seemed to be the larger attraction, but even with many more people, it still wasn’t at all crowded. We made a lot of well-behaved dog friends and enjoyed the nice weather. It could not be a more convenient stop as it’s just a few steps from the public transit and very near other NoDa destinations. 10/10 recommend...
