I’ll preface with I used to manage a very busy Caribou location in another part of the Minneapolis metro, so I’m not some rando who has never worked in fast food/customer service.
Until recently, had you asked me about this Caribou location, I would have highly recommended it, 5 stars. That changed when the management changed.
The old manager knew my name, knew my car on the video feed when I pulled up, knew my order (I always order the same thing), always was very happy to see me, would ask me how I was (I feel genuinely), and always made sure my order was right. Recently the management changed. I gave the new manager time to adjust, because I know it’s hard, but nothing has gotten better.
The new manager is fake nice and does not have manners. They are condescending while taking orders and at the window, and does not allow me to finish stating my drink before asking what is next. Which again, I always get the same drink and am there nearly every week day at the same time.
Lately I have also been ordering a breakfast sandwich. I don’t know how this is possible since the ovens have preprogrammed buttons, but somehow the bread is almost always burnt on top and now most of the time I unwrap my sandwich to find that it is lopsided like a Jenga tower that fell over or the leaning tower of Pisa.
With the new manager, came a new employee. I don’t think they are new to the company but new to the location. And they are just as bad. They have also argued with me over asking for my drink to be remade. I almost never ask for things to be remade and instead of just remaking it, they decided to come to the drive thru window to tell me it was right when it wasn’t. The drink I get? Iced chai with almond milk. So it’s not a complicated drink and takes about 30 seconds to make properly (including shaking which they don’t do the majority of the time now here)…
The rest of the employees, I still adore, and feel like with most of the morning crew I have a good customer/worker relationship. But I’m just about fed up with this location now and am considering going to the other Chaska Caribou without the drive thru due to my repeated recent bad...
Read moreStopped at the drive thru on Wednesday 3/8 (morning around 8:50) and the woman working the window (was wearing a pink winter coat) was horribly rude. When I was placing my order, she did ask for my Perk's number (which was the only good thing out of this entire experience), proceeded to tell me I had a $1 off a large beverage, but then I said I had received an email about a $1 bakery item when you order a medium drink. She was like "no, that's not on your account" I said "no, I received an email that say I can mention the offer, and it started on the 6th". So she says "fine, what can I get you?" So I say "Blueberry muffin and medium white peach berry smoothie" she says "I'll have your total at the window". I pull up, and as I sit there, find the email on my phone. She comes to the window and I try to show her the email and she snaps "yeah, she showed me" while gesturing to a co-worker. She tells me the total and goes to hand me the bag for the muffin and says "oh and we're out of blueberry muffins so here's an apple cinnamon one instead" and I respond "no, that's not ok". Why did she not tell me this when I was ordering? Or come to the window to tell me instead of assuming she could just randomly pick a replacement item? Now I'm already disappointed in the fact that Monkey Bread has been discontinued, but then to be out of a standard menu item, one that is posted on the main menu outside at all times, I think is terrible. But worse is someone so arrogant as to pick a replacement for a customer, that you know nothing about, and act like it's no big deal. I settled for a lemon bread. Without even a napkin in the bag. I drive by this location twice a day, and actually stop frequently, but will now probably drive out of my way to go to the one on Pioneer, even without a drive thru, as their service has always been...
Read moreI am going to share my awful experience. I frequently stop by this Caribou in the morning on my way to work and i order the exact same drink everytime. Time after time my drink is either too sweet or too bland. If made correctly, my drink tastes perfect. Considering i pay over $5 for my drink i want it to be made right. So when i get a drink thats clearly not made right i ask them politely to remake it. Well some older blonde lady with a loud mouth (apparently the shift manager) decided to accuse me of cheating them out of money when i asked them to remake my drink. I found this aboslutely ridiculous because i am a customer and i can tell when a drink that i order everyday isnt made right. If i am paying over $5 for a drink i want it to be made right. As a customer, i should not be accused of cheating the company out of money. I called later and spoke with the general manager and sure enough the next time i came through i got an apology from that lady. This location has always had rude employees. Even yesterday when i went the lady at the window didnt say one word to me. Not one. This location needs some serious revamping when it comes to...
