Our experience at Chatham Sunrise…
DO NOT GET THE CRAB CAKES! They are not actual crab cakes they are like crab latkahs minus potato… and taste just like the sea…
I am a AuADHD which means my sensory needs are different than a neurotypical.
This restaurant is over seated squishing a table wherever they can, the service was subpar. I’ve been a waitress for years and … that’s not how you do it. I ordered a coffee, nvr drank it, BC she was using an orange rimmed pot aka DECAF! We asked if it was regular she said yes 👍 (it was in fact decaf). Also if they were to brew decaf into that pot and it wasn’t cleaned properly this can hurt someone. My partner order an ice water with a lemon wedge. He received a juice glass of tap water over flowing no ice no lemon. We waited in a super loud room for 10 mins b4 we ordered. Loud!! You could not have a nice conversation at breakfast here.
At this point being shoved into a corner, people not being conscious of their volume, and lastly the waitress we had…
I ordered the crab cake Benedict…. I asked for everything to be separated…. I was laughed at! The face the waitress gave me was absolutely uncalled for and unacceptable behavior as a Service Worker.
At this point I had to leave this building. I was uncomfortable, judged, and in a corner… I said my safe word to my partner and I went to the car.
He asked for our food to go and they did so willingly.
Eggs - still bleeding uncooked white parts…. Home fries— just don’t even bother boring bland super hard Crab cakes — rough , salty, less than a half cm tall, tasted like the oven (not in a good way) English muffin was super dry (no butter given) Hollandaise was decent. But…. It is definitely not without the powder base.
My partner got a bowl 🥣 lobster breakfast bowl… that looked better smelt better and he ate all his food EXCEPT he picked out most of the home fries.
I have worked every position in a restaurant… trained chef that got out of the business bc of this ignorant...
Read moreArrived in Sunday at 11 am. Very busy, but understandable. What was not understandable was the COMPLETE lack of service. Stood their while a young man ignored us while typing into computer. After 15 minutes a waitress acknowledged the couple in front of us telling them that she would be right with them. Did not acknowledge others waiting. After another 15 minutes an older man came to the front loudly saying, "We're leaving, we can't get any food here!" A couple came in after us and chose to sit at the bathroom to eat. At the 30 minute wait point, still waiting without acknowledgement that we exist. After 45 minutes we chose to leave. The couple in front of us were still waiting. The couple that came in after us had not been given menus and looked ready to leave. Possibly the worst treatment I have received on the Cape. Drove 40 minutes to another restaurant. Truly...
Read moreChatham Sunrise should be renamed Chatham Sunset, because that’s how long you’ll be waiting for your food.
We came in excited for a nice breakfast — what we got was a 70-minute disaster. The waitress told us “just one more minute” about 30 minutes into our wait… and then we waited another 40 minutes. When the food finally arrived, we almost wished it hadn’t. Cold, bland, and completely underwhelming — not even close to worth the wait.
The service was indifferent at best, dismissive at worst. No apology, no urgency, no clue. We watched other tables glare, groan, and walk out. Should’ve followed their lead.
Avoid this place unless you’re craving disappointment with a side of...
