HWY 58 BBQ — Restaurant in Chattanooga

Some of the best BBQ I ever had with extremely patient and informational counter help. I wanted to purchase food for a family gathering and, after reading the positive reviews, I decided to give Highway 58 a try. I ordered a lot of food and, thinking I ordered too little, the person taking the order assured me that I ordered plenty. When I arrived I was overwhelmed by the amount of BBQ perfection I had waiting for me! Abundant food but, better than that, OUTSTANDING taste on everything ordered. Pork, Beef, Chicken, Ribs - all amazing! The sides are just as good as the meat!! If you are planning a large family gathering, skip firing up the grill and visit Highway 58. The food was okay but nothing great. After reading previous reviews, I was actually a little disappointed after eating there myself. The killer potato with chicken had bits of dried out chicken bits throughout that had to be spit out, and the shredded cheese that comes on the potato was still cold and unmelted. The ribs were tender on one end and tough on the other. The sides were okay, but again…not great. We skipped out on eating another night at River Drifters to try something else different but local and wish we hadn’t. This teeny unassuming Mom-n-Pop has been on our bucket list for a year. The loaded baked potatoe sign was the promt to make today the day we finally stopped in. The service was friendly despite being very busy. I ordered a killer BBQ rib baked potatoe. Yum. The ribs were generously piled on and so tender and juicy. Potatoe was well cooked and complements the BBQ well. I ordered a little banana pudding for dessert. It was fresh, and homemade. I didn't actually like the hint of lemon twist it had but my husband loved it. Cons: small dining area, no bathroom and very little parking. We will be placing Hwy 58 BBQ high on our list...
