I am newly obsessed with this place and can't stop going almost every day! Everything I have tried is absolutely amazing! Cold brew coffee: very nice flavor on its own; kept me caffeinated while not upsetting my stomach at all (I'm very sensitive so this is great) Matcha drinks: I prefer my matcha as a latte (with milk), but their version with lemonade is very good too! Today I combined 12oz cold brew with a 16oz iced caramel matcha latte and it is a wonderful combination. The caramel is just a hint so it's not overly sweet. I did have to order 2 separate drinks and combine them myself in a larger cup (their largest cup size is 16oz), but I didn't mind doing that because I wanted quite a large drink. I also love the combo of matcha and cold brew together, but I didn't see anything on the menu that incorporated both. Maybe next time I will ask for matcha added to my cold brew? I'm sure the baristas can help me think of something! Spinach and pesto crepe: my favorite thing on the menu. I order it almost every time I go and it is good hot, room temp, and even cold, so if you order it for later, it will still be amazing when you go to eat it. Ham & cheese croissant: bigger and better than starbucks' version; plenty of ham and cheese inside and you can tell these are baked fresh and not frozen like Starbucks. I have never been full from the ones from Starbucks either, but the ones from Morning Brew are actually filling. Everything bagel with cream cheese: very fresh bagel and the cream cheese is so good (they smear it on for you and it is not your typical block of cream cheese; it's softer, possibly whipped and incredible) Pastries: I've tried the gf strudel and blueberry Danish and both were delicious. The strudel is jam packed with fresh blueberries and was not overly sweet either. Spinach egg bites: bigger and more satisfying than the ones from Starbucks, plus these cost less and you can tell they use better ingredients Their seasonal drinks are very creative and...
Read moreI came here with a friend in the morning, and it was so nice and quiet. For some reason the past few times I've came here, it was always so busy. My friends and I were always lucky to snag a table for us those times. But coming in the morning is really pleasant.
I've only gotten coffee here in the past, so this time we got food. I got a Pistachio Croffin (croissant muffin) and we shared a Berries and Cream crepe. And that first bite of that crepe was absolutely delicious. We were planning on sharing that crepe with another friend, but that crepe was so good we demolished it haha. We ended up ordering the Spinach Pesto crepe to share for later instead. But wow, I have nothing but praise for these crepes because they blew me away.
The Berries and Cream crepe was just amazing. Fruits tasted fresh and juicy. The crepe itself was perfectly sweet. And the whipped cream cheese filling inside was light and creamy. I couldn't ask for more in a fruit crepe. Also the light drizzle of sweetened condensed milk on top? Chef's kiss. And then we tried the Spinach and Pesto crepe. It had all my favorite things inside, so of course I loved it. I loved the savory pesto spread inside the crepe, the spinach, ricotta, and parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. The tomatoes added a nice acidity to balance and the balsalmic glaze tied it all together on top. It felt like applause roared in my mouth. Also I can't forget the Pistachio Croffin I ate too. It had great texture, and had that subtle nutty flavor from the pistachio. I really liked it.
Anyways, I'm a big Morning Brew fan. It's poppin' in the afternoon and it's tough getting a seat, but it's not hard to see why. I prefer the early mornings for a more quiet and less chaotic atmosphere. Love you morning brew! I will always remember how those crepes rocked my world and I'll...
Read moreI've been so excited to try out Morning Brew Co since I heard about it. As a resident of Ooltewah, I've been missing good, quality coffee from a local shop. I finally got the chance to get a latte via online ordering on the go this morning and I unfortunately didn't love my experience!
I walked in and was just kind of stared at rather than being welcomed by the staff. The vibes were cold, almost like I needed to announce why I was there? One barista smiled at me but not in a welcoming way. It was just weird.
While I waited for my coffee I looked around and noticed what I assumed was a staff member's insulated water bottle on the counter. As a former barista, I questioned it being in the view of customers or in the service area at all. Then, I noticed a political sticker on it that I felt was pretty aggressive and unwelcoming. It made me uncomfortable but also kind of matched the cold, unfriendly vibes from when I walked in. Freedom of Speech is obviously important, but in this day and age maybe leave your polarizing stickers away from your place of work.
I hate to leave a critical review for a local small business and while my latte was delicious, I don't feel motivated to return. I left confused about how weirdly cold my experience was.. I feel like that's rare with a shop like Morning Brew Co in a friendly town like Ooltewah. Not to be that girl, but the staff at the Starbucks down the street have treated me with...
