The good- I can't even comically say anything good!
The bad- day 1 I ordered 4 drinks. An order that confused the poor girl to the point she was pulling lids off sticking her nose down on the edge of the glass and sniffing drinks to figure out which was which. Luckily she figured it out before getting to my drinks. It only took me 5 minutes to get 4 drinks.
The ugly- yes it gets worse than that. Second visit I was ordering breakfast. I ordered my wife's sandwich and her larger coke no ice. Ordered my son and daughters food then ordered me a sausage egg and cheese mcgriddle value meal large sized with a coffee. The man (Dave) taking the order placed the large coke no ice in the value meal then added a small coffee. I tried explaining to him that the order was wrong and the value meal should be large and the coffee should be part of that meal. To which he replied by being very nasty and stating I have your coffee on the order! When I got to the window he jerked the card out of my hand and shoved it back into my hand. Not throwing it but pretty close. His attitude was awful. When I got to the window to get my food there was a small coffee. At this point fed up and frustrated I went off on the poor girl at the window. I apologized and explained what happened. The manager got me a large coffee however my value meal was not large sized as I had asked which meant we were short a hashbrown for one of the children. My wife's egg in her egg mcmuffin was raw runny on top of everything else. My in laws were in the vehicle in front of us. The cost was 10 dollars and some change. They handed Dave 21 dollars to which he got mad at them and couldn't figure out what he should give back then he threw their change back at them.
Over all I rate McDonald's different than everyone else. A McDonald's with 5 stars is equal to a sit down restaurant with 3 stars I just don't have faith in getting good food or service at McDonald's. A one star at McDonald's from me is equal to getting something from a honey dipper. Never again will I set foot in that McDonald's and neither should you. Cheboygan has a lot of better options for better prices and service. This place really should be shut down or get better people running it and fire all the idiots who feel sticking their nose in a cup or being nasty to...
Read moreDear Cheboygan McDonald’s franchise owner: Today I went to your restaurant and waited 30 minutes in the drive thru line. It was during the lunch hour, so I accept that is a busy time of day. A company was working on your drive thru signs, however it appeared people were still able to place their orders. When I got up to the drive thru to place my order I sat for 10 minutes waiting for someone to take my order. People in line behind me were leaving the line because no one every came on to take my order. Perhaps the equipment wasn’t working, perhaps they were so busy in the restaurant that they needed a few minutes to catch up. Nonetheless, when I received no response I pulled around and went into the restaurant to place my order. I politely explained to a gentleman who looked like he might be in management that I had waited 30 minutes in the drive thru line only to find that the far drive thru system didn’t seem to be working after 10 minutes of waiting and that people were pulling around me because they too had been waiting. Instead of apologizing, the gentleman looked at me and said: “We just took an order from that line.” I was shocked at the response and lack of customer service. I wasn’t looking for free food or any type of compensation for my wasted time, I was simply explaining their seemed to be a problem with their drive thru. He gave me a blank stare and went back to work. I was kind, yet I was met with an attitude of “you’re wasting my time and I don’t have time for you.” I am writing this review because I feel this individual (and perhaps others at this organization) needs additional training. This appeared to be a McDonald’s employee well into his working years. This was not a teenager who doesn’t understand that you don’t speak to anyone, let alone a customer with such disrespect. I was offended and will not return to this location. In all the years I’ve been going to McDonald’s, I’ve never encountered such rudeness. I sincerely hope that this issue of complete disregard of a customer is addressed. I don’t expect I am the only person who has been offended by an employee at...
Read moreHad a horrible experience with a manager there last week. I was camping down the road at Cheboygan SP and it was late and a rain storm rolled up. We tried to wait it out but in the end was not able to and we decided to drive into town and get McD's. Their hours online were wrong and we ended up walking in about 15 minutes before the lobby closed. The manager on duty, Jacob, immediately went on the defensive, telling the cashier that took our order that we would have to take it to-go (like we weren't standing right there). As she gathered our food, he went about filling drive up orders and trash talking us to other staff. Saying things like, "It never fails, someone always walks in at the last minute" and "Oh, I bet they are gonna mess up our clean lobby, I want to go home". Needless to say, when I confronted him, he walked away to take a drive up order, never to come back and talk to me. We received our order and left only to find out that it was not complete when we got back to our campsite (but i guess that's on me, after Jacob's stellar managerial skills, I should have checked my order).
We ordered food for a total of 10 people, spending close to $75. We would have gladly took our food to go (which we did anyway) had he kindly asked us to. Best part is, after making a scene that we were a huge inconvenience to him, we noticed that there were several other groups in the lobby when we walked out. Jacob followed behind us and locked the door, allowing those groups to stay inside and enjoy their meals, but they didn't have kids. Thanks McD's of Cheboygan , it will be an experience we will...
