First of all I never like leaving a negative review except when one is well deserved. I have been going to this restaurant for over 27 years and the previous owner held it down great. I ordered take out food AD2 Thursday night and I placed the order from the bar as no one was at the front desk. Went in ordered the food from Vinnie (bartender) and had a drink while waiting. Drink was good, get home to eat my food and noticed the rice looked like oatmeal mush... tried a bite and it was so gross tasted like it was 2 weeks old and reconstituted with water and microwaved. Crab rangoon were the only thing fresh as the egg foo young tasted old as well. I called the HK to complain to them about my findings and they questioned where I ordered the food from meaning the bar or the kitchen. I told them the bar so they transferred me to the bar and I spoke to Vinnie and he apologized stating he would give me a free rice next time I visit. My understanding is it appears they sell the old outdated food to bar patrons who they assume maybe to intoxicated to realize so they deflected it to the bar.... not a good business practice and probably my last time ordering anything from there.... I will say many eateries have gone downhill since the pandemic and it is sad.....save your money, stomach and health! Gross...
Read moreI pick up food for my sister who’s in a nearby nursing home. The woman at the front desk is always rude and acts like your disrupting her day by showing up. The decor is the same as it was in the 70’s but now it looks dark, dusty and dirty in there. I ordered a large crab rangoon and small fried shrimp for my sister. This time, the bag was stapled shut several times. I didn’t open it, but my sister said the crab rangoon had gone bad, and there were only 7 in the box. It cost $22.00 for the order to have to throw half of it out. The four fried shrimp were good. She had been looking forward to that for days. She normally loves the food from there, otherwise, I wouldn’t go there. Once I ordered General Gau’s Chicken there since I was getting food for her, and the chicken was hard and chewy. I wouldn’t recommend it. The food is expensive, customer service from the woman at the front desk is awful and the food isn’t good. It costs so much to eat out these days. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere where they appreciate your business and the...
Read morePretty good Chinese food. We've ordered from here a number of times now, and it is kind of hit and miss with the flavor. Sometimes the dishes are very flavorful, but other times they are rather bland. They are always hot and the portions are plentiful. I usually get 3-4 meals off mine. My husband has tried several dishes, but I always get orange chicken. It has a few pieces of orange peel in it, but it could use more orange flavor. I really like how the dishes come with plenty of sauce. I'm not very fond of rice, so I like to dump a lot of sauce on my rice when eating Chinese or Indian food. Most Chinese places I have been to do not provide much sauce, but this place does. The service is not always the greatest. My husband always orders online, then shows up at the time the food is supposed to be ready. Twice now, he has shown up at the expected time and they haven't even started cooking the food yet. We'll keep coming back, but we'd love to see a little more consistency in flavor and more...
