Pressed Cafe — Restaurant in Chelmsford

Consistently Bad Service, Rude Manager – Over Something as Simple as Coffee. I’ve given Pressed several chances, but every time I go, I run into the same problem, and it’s honestly baffling. I like my coffee darker—stronger than the standard brew they serve. You’d think asking for something as simple as a darker coffee wouldn’t be a big deal, but apparently, it is for this place. Every time I request it, the staff acts like it’s an unreasonable or impossible request. I’ve even had servers roll their eyes or give me attitude about it. The last time I was there, the server actually sighed when I asked, as if I was being difficult for wanting my coffee a bit stronger. When I brought it up to the manager, I thought things would get better—but they didn’t. The manager made the situation worse by being completely unprofessional. Instead of listening to me and offering a solution, they were rude and dismissive, telling me that “this is how we serve coffee here,” “Next time I’ll make sure they charge you for extra shot” as if customizing an order for a customer is unheard of. I don’t mind if you guys charge me extra for a shot, but I don’t like arguing over something stupid every-time I’m there. This has happened THREE TIMES NOW! I don’t know why it’s such a big deal to make a small adjustment, but the staff and management at Pressed clearly don’t care about accommodating their customers. I’ve had enough of being treated poorly over such a minor request. There are plenty of other places that actually care about customer service and will treat you with respect.

When it opened it was stellar. Got a smoothie that tasted like they made it with fermented fruit and brown frozen banana. When I brought it up and said it was fizzy and bitter, one of the guys poured some out, tasted it and had the nerve to say it's fine but so you want another one. He tried to tell me that's flavor that's passion fruit. LOL. I've worked in Michelin star restaurants and five star hotels, I have been a line cook in fine dining restaurants and am a graduate of culinary school. I know what passion fruit and mango taste like and when it's fermented garbage being passed off as fresh. He gave me attitude about it which was not what I would expect from Pressed. I don't know if they switched management or something but it's gone downhill from what it was. I am definitely not going back again. I usually don't review places, but this honestly prompted me to do one. They need an inspection. He took smoothie me and my son had tasted and thought was bad and tasted it out of my cup to tell me I can't taste. If you're looking for a cozy cafe with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, look no further. From the moment I walked in, I was charmed by the trendy decor and friendly staff.

The menu had a great variety of options, ranging from breakfast sandwiches to hearty salads and soups. I decided to try their signature pressed sandwich, and I was blown away by the flavors and presentation.

The sandwich was perfectly pressed, with the bread crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The fillings were fresh and flavorful, with a perfect balance of sweet and savory. I was also impressed by the generous portions, which left me feeling fully satisfied.

To top it all off, the coffee was excellent as well. Rich, flavorful, and expertly prepared, it was the perfect accompaniment to my meal.
