SCAM ALERT!! Money Gouging! THEY WILL ADD EXTRA CHARGES TO YOUR ORDER. I was always suspicious of their prices having ordered from them for the past year and a half on how overpriced my food were. I ordered in person, a large chicken Lo Mein and 3 eggrolls. The owner said my total was $16.95. I only had $15 in cash so I gave my card. Charged me an additional 3% for the card (normal). While I was waiting I checked the prices on the menu. I asked for the breakdown of costs. She said my Lo Mein was $9.50 after tax. Another big issue is they charge 8% tax but they are located in 19027 which is 6% sales tax. She said my egg rolls were $1.85 after tax each. She printed a receipt for my total which she would not let me have. It was $15.05. I asked why my total came to $16.95. She stumbled over her words and told me there "was a $1 charge for card". She gave me the total before I pulled out my wallet and she charged me $1.90 extra before another card fee of 3%. She could not explain to me the extra $1.90 charge and then began to gaslight me that it was my first time there and I needed to pay with cash next time. I have been there at least once a month for the past year and a half, having moved to the area. She shut down when I broke it all down to her again, asking for an answer about the additional $1.90 she charged me before she knew I was paying with a card and the 3% card charge. I will be reporting to the attorney...
Read moreAmong the many Chinese restaurants located in the East Oak Lane, Elkins Park, and Jenkintown area, China House has to be one of my favorite eateries – due to their great food and prompt delivery. If you are a busy professional, or a person who is stressed for time, and do not have adequate time prepare meals, then, China House would be a great alternative to enjoy a stress-free healthy meal.
China House does boast an extensive menu for those folks whom enjoy a spice of versatility in Chinese cuisine. I would like to recommend their lunch menu specials, which are truly affordable, especially for anyone that is sporting a tight budget. Their lunch menu is so affordable; you could feed a family of five for fewer than thirty dollars. China House also has some super affordable American appetizer dishes.
Pros: Super fast delivery, prompt and friendly service. Without a doubt, this adds to the value of an already great local Chinese restaurant.
Cons: No tables provided for a quick...
Read morei ordered mushroom pork which typically is mushrooms and pork cooked in gravy. well i got pork mushrooms and all these other vegetables in it. i called them and asked why they put all those extra vegetables in there and was told that’s what mushroom pork is. that would be an absolute lie..i’ve actually ordered this before from them and they didn’t make it like that. and to top it all off the pork was dry.. there was no fat content on it which would allow for the pork to have moisture. the pork tasted like it was pre made and sitting and had become old. unfortunately i will never order...
