Came after a long time wanting to try and honestly it was pretty decent. The customer service was very very good. Super polite and made the ordering/paying experience simple and seamless. The menu is limited to a few items but they are done very well. Went with a side order of dumplings and they were your traditional fried dumplings and the sauces they pair with them especially the spicy one was amazing. Went with the classic pork katsu meal and the katsu itself was done to perfection with the meat being tender and not overly seasoned. The breading on the katsu was fried perfectly and wasn’t dripping an excess of oil. The size of it too was great too, didn’t feel like I left without really trying the katsu. They have to know how to cook something perfectly if it’s in the name of the business and that they succeed flawlessly. Sadly the katsu is not the only part of the meal though. The gravy or curry used for the pork katsu was just too sweet for my liking and wish they offered a bit more variety on spiciness. A friend said that the sauce used for the fish katsu was also very ranch heavy which could be a bit off putting. Portion size of the accompanying items and the lack of bancans was a little disheartening for sure. Loved the customer service and the main item that’s being sold but the accompanying items on the dish weren’t a hit for me. The starter corn soup was ok but could have done without as I’m not a huge soup enjoyer. Nonetheless I would definitely recommend to those that would want to try Katsu for the first time.

In the beginning, you think the price is too high but the portion size and cooked on the spot makes it all worth it. Cheese katsu has a lot of cheese inside and was worth the additional 3 dollars. Evenly cooked, not dry, great flavor and texture. Sauce seems homemade and was neither strong on acidity nor sweetness and had a great balance. Potato salad was on point, didn't have a lot of mayonnaise on it. It felt like everything was made fresh. Not a lot of salad or rice of which I liked. Portion size control is key when it comes to Japanese cuisine and they nailed it. Loved the atmosphere. Felt like a small family owned business that has a familial vibe to it. Great customer service. Drawings on the wall makes it feel very home-y. Only thing I didn't like was the soup they gave out in the beginning. Very small portion size but when you get the entree, you understand why it's so small. Definitely will be coming back.

A couple weeks ago, a woman gave us a flyer for this place while we were visiting the 7 eleven next door. We told ourselves we'd visit, but didn't have the opportunity to until last night. We ordered take out. We got the cheese katsu, pork katsu, fried dumplings, and shrimp tempura. It was A LOT of food for two people, so we had a mini feast while enjoying some classic movies. Everything was packed to perfection, and we had everything we needed to eat comfortably. Chopsticks, napkins,, and spoons for the soup were provided. It was delicious and everyone was so friendly while we waited for our food inside. The milk coffee and the black bean beverage were delicious. We definitely want to return to try the fish katsu next!

It’s hard for me to believe that this place is so highly rated. This review hurts to write because: (1) It takes time to write reviews, (2) I want Korean restaurants to succeed, and (3) Katsu is one of my favorite dishes. But when I tell you the food was bad, it was bad. The katsu is dry & flavorless, they only give one banchan (side dish), and the rest of it is just as disappointing. To charge this much money for something so subpar is hard for me to understand. To my fellow Koreans, go to Upper Darby H Mart and get the kimchi donkatsu.. it’s miles better. To the owners, please improve the katsu, give more banchan, and charge less. I hope this place succeeds, but I need to make sure they know about my experience here. Hoping for improvements although I don’t know if I’ll...
