Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Cheltenham Township

This Rita’s is kosher (Keystone K) and has a different, way better formula for their cherry water ice. There are no chunks of fruit skins in it, and it’s more tart. It’s awesome. Same goes with their lemon flavor. It is so much better than non-kosher Rita’s locations.

Unfortunately, it’s very hard to actually get what you ordered at Elkins Park Rita’s. About 25% of the time, I get cherry and it’s the highlight of my whole week. The rest of the time, I’ll order cherry but receive Swedish Fish (too sweet, not palatable for me unfortunately) or sugar free cherry, which is also just not what I want or what I ordered.

Something needs to change so that your workers know which red flavor they’re scooping from. It’s really hard for me to eat in general and water ice is one of my “safe foods” (I’m autistic) and the sensory experience of the nasty fruit skins at other Rita’s is also a dealbreaker. Please please fix this and then you can take...

Very disappointed, i went there on Sunday. The young lady working asked what we wanted (not very professional) i asked for a chocolate water ice and vanilla gelati. She walked away, opened and slammed each water ice cooler, walked back to us and said "we dont have chocolate". I then said well its on the board. At that point i realized it was my fault, they only had chocolate gelati not water ice. So the young lady then walked away. came outside just to point at the board to prove me wrong. Ok my mistake however you need to learn manners and professionalism. Just say "im sorry but that chocolate is for gelati only not water ice". I walked away and did not spend my money there. Hey Rita's....teach your young crew customer service please....or you will lose a lot of money. There was a better ice cream parlor around the corner with exceptional customer...

I dont know who has been going there and saying they had a nice time bc when i walked to the place i was only behind one person and when it was my turn the window was open for about a min or two before they closed it. they were just standing there looking at me, i mean it took me 1 second to look at the menu but until i put my arms up an the other customer look at me, i was like really, am i not here or something? am i crazy or they closed because no one said anything? So with my arms still crossed i got a lil closer to the window and the person looked at me and slowly started to open it but by that point i was like im ok i dont need anything. It really sucks beacuse it was my first time there and now Ill never go back and i only live around the corner. Sad, these young ass kids need to really learn respect and...
