I really dislike this store. I have been twice and will NOT be back. Both times, I have been waited on by the same miserable red haired woman. Besides being miserable, she can't count. The first time I went, I asked for a dozen bagels and received nine. I actually called to ask what a dozen means, since I hadn't been there before. The owner's daughter was lovely and apologized and stated that a dozen is a baker's dozen (13). She asked me to come back and she would give me a free dozen. I told her I wasn't interested in anything free, I just wanted to understand. I also told her that the woman who took care of me was very rude. She apologized and said that they are short staffed. I tried again this past weekend. Got the same woman. Still miserable. At least I got 12 bagels this time, just one short. I give up. I'm not going to fight with someone over bagels, I'm just going to go slightly farther, to K&A, because they are fantastic. It's a shame, I really wanted to support this...
Read moreI have lived on Chapel Avenue only two minutes from The Bagel Spot for many many years. Great childhood memories were spent when my father used to get bagels from here and bring them home to watch Saturday morning cartoons with the family. Since then I have moved 2 hours away but I still very often visit my family home. I've stopped in here a couple times since I've moved away and I am very unhappy. Since then this shop has changed. The product itself has changed, the bagels aren't as consistent or as big as they used to be. The workers in there are very rude. While you're waiting for your order you can hear them saying bad things about previous customers. At least two or three times that I've got in there my bagel order has been wrong and I've had to go back so that they can fix it. Even when a worker verbally confirmed twice the details of my order and still gets it wrong. And how overpriced it has become is ridiculous. I used to love this place but save your money or your time and find...
Read moreWanted to love this place. I’m new to the area, so it’s ridiculously convenient — but who cares about convenience if the product and service are subpar?
All I wanted was a bagel with cream cheese. How do you get that wrong when it’s written on the bag?! But let’s back up. When you walk in, don’t expect to be greeted. You’ll feel invisible. Nobody looks up. It’s a small shop, one other customer, and still—nothing.
Someone finally takes my order. The same person who made it wrong hands it to me. No personality, no warmth, but the bagel feels warm, so I rush out thinking “how hard could this be?” Spoiler: harder than you’d think.
Back at my office — wrong bagel. I go back. Again, no greeting. I explain, she remakes it, no apology. I check in the car — looks right this time. Back at the office, I bite in and wish I’d just quit while I was ahead. The bagel tastes old, the cream cheese is sad, and now I’m just annoyed and hungry.
Two stars because it was only $5. One for the bagel, one for...
