My wife and I worked a wedding at this venue so my review is more tailored to that but also while remaining at the venue we did participate in the experience of having a meal here. Firstly, the staff was quite accomodating despite them being incredibly busy - much of the upscale-space was already filled and accounted for, and the upstairs bar-area was a bit busy so we were kindly directed to the lower-level. Upon entering a young lady gave us a decent table (clean) and comfortable. Our server's name was "Zachary" and I have to mention him: I was sincerely impressed by his work ethics and service to us. It's more rare these days then say, 20-30 years ago to have a server that exhibits "service", and with genuine kindness, and for how busy the place was I could see that he was on top of his game. I'm in a service-business, have been in it for 40 years, so I know what "good service" is supposed to be. Zachary impressed me. Now, it was quite noisy with a live band taking place, that did make the noise level a bit much, and I have no idea how they could resolve that (hence only 4-stars on "atmosphere".) We both had their Classic-style cheeseburgers along with an order of mild-buffalo wings; our drinks (just coke and sprite, we don't drink) were kept filled, and our meals were awesome! I've never had better wings than here, and the burger....I'm about ready to drive back to Maryland to get another one, it was amazing! I can't comment on "parking" as other folks have here, it does look like it could be a bit of an inconvenience but in all honesty, if you plan ahead you can surely get a decent spot to park even if it's in their parking space across the street - it's not like "Philadelphia", trying to find a space and dodging getting run over while crossing any street. If you plan to have a meal here, if you're planning an event here, surely you will be making a excellent choice. A little planning ahead will make your experience a 5-star...
Read moreI'm so very disappointed at the treatment we received. We went there to celebrate my daughter's HS graduation. We arrived at 3:45 PM and requested a table for 18. Knowing it was a large table, I expected a wait. I was told 40-minute wait. After 1 hour of wait, I approached the host & asked for an update. She stated, "You guys are next, it is a large table, We are locating an area. After 1 hour and 30, I asked again for an update. Host attempts to locate my position on the list and couldn't locate it. After talking to several people around, she turned around and stated u guys next. I explained that she stated that 30 minutes ago. I keep looking at tables of 6, 8, 4 being seated. She then stated sorry your name got kicked out of the list, but you guys are next.""""""" We have a table of 12 ready we waiting on the 6 top beside that table to paid and leave. I stated ok. So I'll wait here with 5 more since they are about to leave the rest of the family can go ahead. It's almost 2 hours since this is insane. I requested to talk to a manager. Everyone there has no way to help or resolve the manner literally they did not care!!! 12 people sit down. However, this table of 6 is about to "leave" didn't even eat yet. 😒 so our family got split out, the 6 outside could not enjoy drinks or appetizers cause was still outside while tge rest inside. 3 hours and 30 minutes later, we were able to sit down beside the 12 tops. There was no courtesy from managers or owners. And $500 dollars later because I refused to have all I wanted to enjoy, no drinks, no dessert. Worst experience ever, in such an important day for our family. All cause the host/ manager didn't care, were not prepared, and not accepted, they messed up our waiting time in the list. They were so rude and careless about their customers. I'm never ever going back. You don't treat...
Read moreI’ll start by saying the food was great, the band was great, but the staff is very poorly trained. We had a large party so we called at the beginning of the week to make reservations for a Saturday. We were told that they do not take reservations after 5pm. When we arrive to put our name in the hostess informed us that we cannot have a table inside because there was a large reservation that wanted to switch their table inside and those take priority. I told her I was confused because we were informed when we tried to call earlier in the week that they do not take reservations after 5pm. During our whole conversation ask I’m speaking she kept turning around and talking to her coworkers as I was still speaking with her, not listening to anything I’m saying or asking her. Another girl takes our party of 13 to be seated at a table of 9. Obviously that didn’t work. So we were sat at separate tables. When a smaller table opened up shortly after we were seated we asked if we could move over the smaller table so we weren’t taking up half of two large tables. The “manager” came over and she would check with the other “manager” and she never came back the rest of our time there. The table that one party was seated at had a huge puddle under it and puddles on the seat. We ordered a bucket of beer since it was taking so long for drinks. There was literally 8-10 ice cubes in the bucket, we had to get up and ask for more ice to actually keep the beers cold. When it came time to pay our waitress put both tables on one bill. Common sense would tell you to put each table on a bill to keep things better organized for herself and the guests. I’ve been to the Chesapeake Inn many times and have never had this experience. The lack of training and lack of proper customer service was enough to not...
