We were very excited to go to one of our favorite area restaurants tonight Prime 225 to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Our reservation was at 6pm. We arrived at 5:45 and were told that they could seat us but couldn’t give us menus until 6. Ok, I found that to be odd but we went with it. But within a couple of minutes we had waters and someone taking our drink orders. Not sure why we couldn’t get menus right away since our table was available??? Anyway everything was great until we decided to order dessert. IWe were told that if we we’re going to order beignets they needed 20 minutes notice. So when we were about half way through our dinner we let the server know we wanted beignets for dessert. A couple minutes went by and she returned saying that Frank says we can’t have them because our time to have the table was about to be up. It’s 6:45. Officially we had been there for 45 minutes since we didn’t get menus till 6. So basically they are saying that we can only have the table for an hour??? Well I asked to speak to Frank and thankfully he did work it out. But for me the damage has been done. I left there with a very bad taste in my mouth. I will probably return for family events when we have larger parties. But I probably won’t take my wife there again. This was a birthday dinner and the server even asked us if we were there for any special occasion. I let her know it was my wife’s bday dinner. Then they tell us after we are there for 45 minutes we can’t get the one dessert she wanted?? Sorry, but if this is what you call fine dining I guess standards has dropped dramatically since I worked in the business. But thankfully there’s a LOT of competition in the greater Philly area. So I’m sure we can find multiple options...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I ate dinner at prime 225 tonight for our 2 year anniversary. Our server was very kind, and took care of us very well. On the other hand the server to our neighboring table was extremely disrespectful. As a server i understand the idea that taking care of your table is important, although being rude to another table was unacceptable to me. She was trying to take a photo of the table next to us and in the process squeezed herself in between our table in the wall and slightly leaning over our dinner in the process. It interrupted our dinner conversation, and in the process upset my boyfriend and i that we were basically moving out of the way for this tables picture. I would have completely been fine if she had graciously asked us if she was able to stand there and take a picture, but in this situation she said excuse me i’m just gonna take a picture for them real quick or something along those lines, and didn’t wait for a response. It brought me to tears as i just wanted to have a nice dinner with my boyfriend at an upscale restaurant but on top of the noise level that this table was already making it made me very upset. The staff here are usually very kind, respectful, and overall absolutely amazing, but i felt humiliated when this server squeezed her way between my table and the wall and the rest of the restaurant and its occupants stared at my boyfriend and i. As this was happening i even looked up at the Hostess and she looked as though it shouldn’t have been happening either. I am posting this not to be that person who complains about the small things, but because i was trying to have an anniversary dinner with my boyfriend and felt humiliated while being stared at as this event was...
Read moreSo for my dads 50th birthday me and my family went there. There were 6 of us. To start of the appetizers were great, drinks were awesome. Everything was going well, Until the steaks came. Every person at my table ordered the Bone-in ribeye. We all ordered medium Rare. When I received my steak it was Raw. Now I worked in restaurants growing up and am not one to send food back. But when you are paying a 100$ for a steak you want it right. Not to also mention the amount of fat on my cut of steak. Now I know ribeyes are fatty and that’s fine, but there was Atleast 3 inches thick of fat. They should have definitely trimmed it. Anyway long story short. I told the server she was understanding and took it back. When she came back she told “sorry that’s how the steak was prepared and there’s nothing we can do about it.” -They couldn’t even throw back on the grill!! So I told her I will not be eating it and take it back. She came back about 15 minutes later and told me they took it off. But than didn’t even ask if I wanted anything else or anything. The manager never came over and apologized or anything. They acted like my money was no good or something. Our bill was almost 900$ all said and done and honestly it was sub par. It’s a real shame too because I heard good things about this place and I will never...
