Let it be known — I rarely write restaurant reviews. I’m not a professional food critic, but I am very passionate about good food, and it’s not often I’m impressed enough to take the time to share my thoughts. Vietri’s Cucina completely dispels that.
From the moment we walked in, I was thoroughly impressed by the thoughtful, eclectic, decor and the cozy, coastal, Italian ambiance. It instantly made me feel at home. The space felt clean and welcoming, and the staff was excellent - warm, attentive, and professional.
Every dish we ordered was a 10/10. I was especially wowed by the olive oil served with the perfectly crispy, yet delicately soft, focaccia. Most olive oils are either too bitter or too acidic for my taste, but this one was smooth and rich. The addition of a little roasted garlic clove in the oil - perfection!
We started with the burrata and brûléed fig, which was a standout; classic yet creative, rich yet balanced. Absolutely delicious. The tomato sauce on the eggplant parmigiana was another hit: not too acidic, not too sweet, just smooth and delicious. Truly one of the best I’ve had.
My husband ordered the special rigatoni with braised meat. I’m usually not a fan of rigatoni, but this dish won me over completely. The sauce was deep and savory, and the meat was tender and packed with flavor; it was mouthwatering.
Dessert was nothing short of fantastic. It was a lemon tart with meringue and blueberries. Presentation was excellent, and the dessert felt classic yet updated at the same time.
Every aspect of Vietri’s has convinced me to return. You can tell she uses quality ingredients. No corners are cut, and for that, I will be sharing this restaurant with all of my family and friends so it receives the business it...
Read moreThe wife took me there for date night and I had actually never heard of it. Great location in Chesapeake City but parking can be tough during busy hours. My wife had told me the buzz was the food was amazing and it really was. We had the seafood linguine and Branzino. And the fish was literally cooked perfectly with super thin and crisp skin. We got the cheese plate which was very good unfortunately it's the only picture that I took of the food and for dessert we got the olive oil cake. I know it sounds different but if you go you, trust me get it. As I said the food was perfect the service was great but it was a bit cramped in there and we were sat pretty close to the front door on a humid evening . I know they're just getting started and I know they're going to figure a couple things out . We felt a big squeezed in. They had an outdoor area that would probably be wonderful with the fall weather but it was just too hot but a beautiful interior and was perfect spot for date night. Also when we went we heard it was BYOB but then we were told we couldn't bring in the bottles of wine we brought so double check before you go what the situation is. Definitely recommend and we'll be back hopefully when we can get a glass of wine...
Read moreFood was good, service was great, but something is missing. All Italian restaurants serve bread with every meal. I asked for bread and was given two pitiful hard chunks of a stale baguette. Italian restaurants serve a bread basket with at least two different breads, maybe 3 or 4. They provide a small plate for dipping into olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The best places provide grated Parmesan cheese to mix into the oil and vinegar. Please do some research and come up with something unique to fill this missing menu essential! I have eaten at many Italian restaurants in the USA and in Italy. I know what I am talking about and missed a bread option. A second suggestion, but not essential would be to add a green vegetable to pasta dishes. I ordered Eggplant Parmesan. ($24) It was delicious. But I didn't have any bread to mop up the red sauce or a side dish of any type. Adding bread and a side vegetable would allow me to give this...
