Hardee’s — Restaurant in Chesapeake

A little bit of a wait, however, Hardee’s does always seem to take longer than normal. I attribute it to better quality and wait patiently.

This time it was really long! I just wanted a small burger and some tenders. Oh well. The drive through seemed to be the priority or maybe there wasn’t enough help at 6:30pm on a Saturday? Either way, I walked inside and dealt with the consequences.

I was greeted right away but had to wait to give my order, approximately 5 minutes which seems long for a fast food chain with no customers in the restaurant. Later, when it was noticed we were distressed, someone had to check if the order had been done. The cashier did apologize for the inconvenience. It’s something.

While I was waiting, one employee from the back walked right by me with a trash can full of cardboard and didn’t say excuse me. It was strange. He was young though, possibly he didn’t realize it’s polite to acknowledge the other person who steps out of the way when you walk by with a wide load.

Again they apologized for the the delay when they gave the order 14 minutes after I actually placed it. The burger was excellent as I expected. The chicken tenders looked great but weren’t warm. After a kind exchange for a new box of 3 that was under the heater, they were mildly warmer. I was not impressed with this lukewarm...

Something has changed at this location. The fries taste disgustingly old now when they are served. It’s like someone makes a lot of batches at once and then let’s them sit out for hours before serving them to customers. I have never NOT eaten my french fries but the last two times I have eaten there with my parents, everyone’s fries have gone in the trash. The girl working the register was rude and didn’t pay attention to our order. My mom requested a burger with no pickles or onions. The burger had both on it. She said that my mom didn’t make a request and then later said that she requested no ketchup. She was clearly making stuff up because her boss was beside her. While we ate our burgers, we noticed someone else bring their order back that she got wrong too. The restaurant is also filthy and has flies swarming around the tea pots that do not have a lid on tight. The door for the chicken was left open the whole time I was there for the flies to get on. Tables are always dirty and there was a big puddle when I walked in the door where the ice machine is leaking and someone isn’t emptying the container that they have placed underneath. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The wet floor sign and mop were brought out after we’d been there...

The lady at the register was very personable. However, it is unprofessional to use a cell phone around food, regardless of the reason. She made reference that she was looking at a calendar. I didn't feel like my food was compromised in any way but someone else may not like it. Also, the service was slow and the food was not hot. I asked for fresh fries after the first batch was cold and the sandwich was barely warm. Had the cashier not been so nice and I not so hungry I would have asked for a refund. The cashier's attitude is what prompted me to give 3 stars rather than 1. Better luck next time.

The food was hot but the service was below average. The worker didn't acknowledge me or offer to take my order for about 7 minutes. I understand that she was busy and they may have been understaffed. However, a simple acknowledgement could have made me and the other customer that was waiting, feel welcomed.
