First time eating here, I was excited due to the good reviews. My experience was some good, some not so good. Person working the cash register who took our order was friendly. Place was empty except for one table that was already eating. Three people in our party, ordered kebob platters and some dolmades. Canned sodas, no fountain drinks or ice. Very simple dinning area, not much to it. The tabletop to the pub table we were going to sit at wobbled a lot so we moved. The table we sat at needed a good wipe down which we did ourselves. IMO, the wait time for our food was crazy long! Especially since the place was pretty empty. It took 39 minutes for us to get our food. Most of the food was delicious with a few exceptions and you do get plenty of it and it is reasonably priced. The pita was chewy almost like a undercooked pizza crust chewy. The dolmades looked like they had been frozen and were then heated because they were completely mushy when you tried to cut into them and the leaves were almost transparent. They did not look good at all. Several people came in looking for their orders and were told it would be another 10 more minutes. We watched the cashier who evidently is the cook just standing there after we placed our order. We thought someone in the back was cooking our food the whole time. We had seen someone dressed like a cook earlier that walked through the restaurant to go outside. Not sure what the cashier was waiting for to get started on our food if he was the one cooking?? Again, the platters were delicious like all the other reviews state, but wait time is WAY too long for me. So if you are on a time schedule maybe not the day...
Read moreEverything except the platters costs $10 before tax. Desserts and drinks of course are extra. This place is spacious, has seating for 30 people, they probably have room for a few more tables and chairs. On the opposite side of the checkout/grill/kitchen are shelves of grocery items that are mix of Italian (pasta, oils, etc) and Mediterranean goods (grape leaves, couscous, etc). Across the room from these items (to the left of the cash register) are refrigerated/frozen items like cheese, veggies, etc. They're busy at 12noon on a Thursday. Wait for my order of chicken kabob platter is 12 minutes now and counting! I can see a total of 7 tickets so I guess 6 orders before mine! Now the chicken kabob platter. Looks appealing. Taste? The rice is slightly undercooked. Tsatsiki sauce tastes more like mayonnaise rather than yogurt-based. The salad had lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes BUT has slices of dill pickles??? Shouldn't it be olives? The chicken kabob was cooked just right, has spices but not enough salt. Where the kabob was lacking in salt, had too much of it in the hummus dip. Decent solid 3 stars. There are other locations (one in Norfolk) , maybe with a visit...
