Leong's on 23 — Restaurant in Chesterfield Township

Normally I would give this restaurant 5stars. Ordered General Tao's chicken and it was sweet, with no spice. Very disappointing. The worst thing though, was the Almond Boneless Chicken. It's usually very good. There were several chicken pieces that had a very odd texture to it... almost like hard rubber. I don't know how else to explain it. I even took the breading off and tried to determine if it was, in fact, chicken. Ugh! Also, they should drop the word "almond" from the name as there wasn't any as well as no green onions sprinkled on top. All in all, a very disappointing meal. Ever since this restaurant changed ownership, the quality and attention to detail has declined immensely. Perhaps Mom needs to take the ownership back. Will think twice now about going back. Thinking they may not be getting those "Vote 4 The Best" awards any longer. I can no longer recommend...

Ate here for the first time a few weeks ago and it was AWFUL! Got the sesame chicken dinner and it was like eating sludge. I will only got to Leong's 21 from now on. Definitely a disappointment since this one is closer to me.

UPDATE: It has been 3 years since my 1 star review. My in laws purchased Chinese for us this evening and it was awful. The chicken in the sesame chicken was so dry and hard it actually hurt my teeth to eat it. I had 2 pieces before I just couldn't do it anymore. The rice was actually fairly decent so I did eat that. Well while placing a small 1 # combination dinner, the lady tells me okay 10-15 minutes... I get there and 20 people are inside waiting for there food ( I’m not exaggerating when I say 20 ) and I find out people have been waiting an hour since the time they ordered... so why tell me it’ll be done in no more then 15 minutes just for me to load my kids in the truck and come up there for absolutely nothing and didn’t even find a single worker in sight to ask... I’m very disappointed in the customer service and if you can’t handle heavy volume orders then maybe put a limit or give out correct waiting times this way the customer knows what to expect instead of misleading and luring people inside a small dining area to have that many...
