Maybe we tried this place on an off night, but our experience was not positive. To start with the positive, the fried chicken was good. The breading was not too heavy and the dish came out hot and juicy and flavored well. The biscuit that came with it was super dry and even dipping it in the runny milk that was in the mac and cheese didn't help. That brings up the mac and cheese. Take it off the menu rather than serve it like we got it. The pasta was a little too al dente and it was in what I can guess was milk without cheese because it was swimming in tasteless white liquid. There was no salt or pepper anywhere to give it even a little flavor. The lady serving it just commented, oh our cheese melts like that. Then don't serve it. I like al dente pasta, but I would have liked it a little more tender. My husband's steak sandwich was good, but everything he asked for on it was left off and he had to go back and ask for it again. My husband took his mac and cheese back because it was inedible and they replaced it with fries which were good. The place was so smoky with grease smoke, I had to go home and change my clothes immediately. Turning on the kitchen hood might have helped. It really made it uncomfortable to sit in there and eat. The fork I was given to eat my food was a tiny little plastic fork that was impossible to use. It's a good thing I didn't want to eat my mac and cheese. And I was given no knife so I had to use my fingers for my chicken because we were tired of having to go to the counter to ask for things. Based on other reviews, I have to think it was an off night for the restaurant. Suggestions - put salt and pepper, napkins, ketchup on the tables. Give your eat-in guests real silverware. Get a new mac and cheese recipe or take it off the menu. Frying seems to be a strength of the restaurant. Double check to make sure your guests orders are complete. It wasn't that busy in the restaurant. Bring the food out for guests dining together at the same time. My husbands was brought out way before mine was. The cashier was sweet, but not very quick or efficient. It's a fairly new restaurant and I guess maybe some of the bugs are still...
Read moreWent there for the first time with my husband. The service at first was very good. Good selection of food for those who just don't know what you want. Kicken biscuts and gravy-yes the word kicken is there, but those not use to seeing that, or just overlooked it, a hot flame next to it would be good. Had 2 biscuts, only ate 1/2 of one, took plate to counter and get a refill on soda, told the lady couldn't eat them as they were too hot (spicy). Her response, well it does say kicken in the name. No, I'm so sorry would you like something else? First and last time eating there. While we were eating, a goup of 6 elderly ladies came in, one ordered the biscuts and gravy (which is orange by the way), Now I did hear the cashier tell her they were kinda hot-on our way out we let her know they were spicy, she looked at us and said "spicy?" we didn't stick around but I bet she...
Read moreWe had never tried this place before. We are so glad we did. The people that work there are so friendly. They treat you as if you are family. Extremely helpful and have great suggestions. When we walked in another customer who is a regular talk to us about how great their food is. The person working there said he is one of our regulars and has tried almost everything on the menu. We both had smash burgers. They did not disappoint. Cooked perfectly! We had potato wedges, and they were excellent. We even bought a dozen cookies to go. They are so good. If you've never been here, you're missing something. It's not a fancy place. It is just a really it's a good restaurant. Can't wait to go back and try something else. We're looking forward to a return visit. Thanks again for your hospitality and your...
