Learn moreI really prefer to start reviews with a positive, and when made possible, keep it positive... this Outback did not make that possible. But, there was at least one positive - Brooklynne, our server. She was indeed very friendly, helpful and just a genuinely enjoyable server. I feel bad for her, because the restaurant itself did not live up to her energy and enthusiasm. The atmosphere made me think of what a wake at a strip club must feel like. You could tell it had potential, but it was just sad. Mundane. Boring. Not just a little depressing. Had NA drinks and nothing exceptional - lemonade tasted watered down. The bread and butter was good and standard fare for steakhouses. We had the loaded bloomin onion (don't remember the exact name of it) - not bad, I wound up eating the whole thing myself as my son could not stomach all of the oil dripping from the fries and onion. It was nothing special. The entrees is where I completely gave up any notion to ever returning to this restaurant. I had the Shrimp and Lobster pasta (linguini?). A complete trainwreck of a plate. The lobster literally was less than a tablespoon of something nearly indiscernible on the pasta. The shrimp was incredibly overcooked... or had been sitting out all day after being cooked. The pasta was actually cooked to perfection! Not too soft and not too firm, perfect. But then, the sauce. The cook absolutely has no culinary skills whatsoever in order to have served this dish in the form it was served - there was so much sauce that when I stirred everything together, it literally looked like a soup and not a pasta dish! I took 5 or 6 bites and said "to hell with it," and called Brooklynne over to ask for the check to leave. My son had some kind of chicken. Overcooked and according to him "Walmarts chicken is way better," but I will not speak further on food which did not touch my tongue. The cookie cutter responses on the reviews here tells me everything I need to know - the quality is horrible and there are no plans to make it better. The value for money is just sad. I could have spent $4 on corn dogs and been a lot more satisfied...
Read moreI am a GF vegetarian and was drug to Outback for a work lunch. I had previewed the menu online ahead of time because I knew it would be difficult to find something I could eat. I ordered the Aussie Cobb salad without the bacon, cheese, and croutons, which leaves basically the "Fresh mixed greens," hard boiled eggs, and tomatoes. It came out with a slab of hormone- and antibiotic- laden chicken breast on it so I sent it back before it even hit the table. The waiter was very gracious to make the correction. When the "new" plate came out (hopefully they didn't just take the chicken off and send it back), it was literally white lettuce and cherry tomatoes. An $11 "salad" with 2 ingredients, and it didn't even have the mixed greens that the menu described. The next time the waiter came back, I asked if it was supposed to have hard boiled egg on it and he said he would check. When he came back, he informed me they were out of eggs for the day. Mind you, we were there at 11:45am so the place had been open for 45 minutes. Also, if they were out of hard boiled eggs, they should have notified the customer as they were ordering to allow them a chance to ask for a substitution. Not just leave the item off and hope no one notices. The waiter did reduce the price of the salad to $7 and change, which was a good try, but the side salads had more stuff on them and were only $5. Since the side salads don't list the ingredients on the menu, I wasn't comfortable ordering that in the first place because I wouldn't know what to have the kitchen leave off. I realize this is a steak house in Cheyenne, WY which probably the least vegetarian friendly combination one could imagine, but like me, there is going to be someone in a work group or a family member that is going to need a viable alternative. Village Inn and Old Chicago were both very accommodating when I've been there and I was still able to have a meal with more than 2 ingredients, so it is...
Read moreFirst time in a very long time eating at an Outback.
1st I will say the waitress Heather was very polite and helpful answer questions and she made the experience better.
I order all of my food at once when the waitress came to ask about my drink. That was 6 minutes after my arrival. The menu was intimidating because of the prices but I still ordered the new Boomerang Mozzerella sticks, a salad and a center cut sirloin with fries medium. The mozzeralla sticks looked great and tasted fine. I recommend using a spoon to put the marinara sauce on them and the eat them with a spoon or fork. They fall apart fairly easy and you might end up digging one out of the sauce. The salad suprised me. Portions seemed off tastes ok but the ranch was spicy for some reason. Not on my tongue but my throat burned. Maybe try a different dressing. I asked for garlic butter on my steak and they put plenty because it made the plate rather soupy and it made the fries soggy before I could eat them but the fries I did have were crispy and well seasoned. I wanted a baked potato but they weren't ready at the time. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium and it was very tender. I had to wait a little to eat it comfortably because of how hot it was temp wise. The only real fault with the steak in my opinion was the pepper. It overtook the flavor and smothered out the meat and garlic butter. I couldn't give a higher score because of how my food was overspiced and because it took a long time to actually get my main course. I waited 5-10 min between each item brought to me. My ticket was 42 and I tipped 8. I probably won't return here because it is a bit out of the way but I may try again elsewhere in the future and it would be on me to make special requests on seasoning.
The atmosphere was relaxing and stress free. Thank you for...
