Fantastic visit! With exceptional service and phenomenal fresh food! I will be back for another visit from Canada 🇨🇦. Definitely want to try more things on the menu. This time was the Tres Amigos Fajitas! Also, I can't get enough of your mushroom salsa! OMG! UPDATE MAY 2025 I actually made it back here again, and I ordered the Fajitas Tres Amigos, which includes steak , chicken 🐔 , and shrimp 🍤! I completely forgot that this place blows you out of the water before you have even had a chance to order. They bring you chips and 3 bowls 🥣. 1 salsa , 1 bean dip, and 1 mushroom salsa. The aroma hits hard! Got my Pepsi, and the meal came, and you could hear it coming. See the video ! The main skillet was loaded with all the proteins in mass volume. Great value here! The second plate has your rice and beans 🫘, pico de gallo, gaucamole, and sour cream. I also bartered to give up my tortillas in exchange for a couple roasted Jalapenos. Ate until I couldn't move, then got a to go container, which will now be lunch tomorrow in the big rig. Oh yes, that's right, they also have semi parking right outside the front doors. I highly recommend that if you ever happen to be going through Cheyenne Wyoming, you can stop and give this place a try!

The space is open and we were seated right away. Our chips and salsa were brought to us right away. The salsas were very good. One was a pico made with mushrooms. Our drink orders were taken and I tried the blueberry maragarita(thinking they’d be similarly to those made as the old Casa). What I got was a very sugary drink that tasted like grape koolaid. You see in the photo that I couldn’t finish it. For food, I ordered the cheese enchilada & crispy chile relleno. The food came out within minutes, which is always a concern. As you can see from the photo, the cheese in the enchilada wasn’t melted at all. It was just rolled up into an oily corn tortilla and red sauce was poured on top. It was not even warm. The relleno was prepared differently than I’m used too. It was a green chile stuffed with cheese and wrapped in a flour tortilla and fried. I’m used to the traditional preparation with the stuffed chile being covered in beaten egg whites and then fried. The taste wasn’t bad, it was just not what I expected. Overall, the service was good and the food was mediocre. If you’re looking for a fast meal, then this is the spot. If you’re looking for a very good traditional Mexican meal, then you probably won’t like this place.

We randomly found Tres Amigos in Cheyenne, WY while passing through on our way to other states, and it turned out to be such a great surprise! The place looked neat, well-maintained, and had a welcoming vibe. It filled up quickly, which is always a good sign. The food was excellent — some of the best Mexican I’ve had in a long time. The chile relleno was absolutely delicious (I got the fried version and loved it), and the chori pollo was packed with flavor and spice, with chorizo that really stood out. They started us off with fresh table chips and three different sides, which was a fun touch. We finished our meal with a smooth and sweet flan dessert, the perfect ending to a great lunch. If you’re ever passing through Cheyenne, I definitely recommend stopping at Tres Amigos for authentic and flavorful Mexican food!

Having grown up with Mexican food and of Mexican heritage, many restaurants just do NOT live up to the name on their sign. I normally do not want to try new restaurants because they have too many things to work out before they either fold or they become a good place to take the family.

However, we went just two days after they opened and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was attentive but a little slow because they just do not have enough staff to help. The young men at the front counter were not overly talkative even though we tried to make small talk. This was definitely not a good first impression.

We ate earlier in the afternoon and the bathrooms were definitely not clean upon a quick visit as soon as we walked in. However, I understand with too few employees that this would be overlooked. I would hope this is rectified as there were not even any paper towels for drying hands.

Our waitress was thorough though and kept our glasses filled. We asked for a couple of items after we ordered and she was prompt to bring them as soon as they were ready. She was pleasant to speak with and helpful.

Let's talk about the food. The starter chips they bring include three little bowls - one beans, one salsa, and one that was some kind of mixed chopped vegetables. We mixed all three together and it was really, really good. The cilantro was not overpowering but the chips were stuck together from having been fried.

My wife and I ordered the fajitas for two plate. The beef was really good along with the vegetables. My ONLY complaint about the fajitas is that there was not enough rice and beans to share with two people. It was barely enough to count as one serving that you would normally get at other local Mexican restaurants. However, the beans and rice did have a great taste. If a restaurant can't make good beans and rice, they should not call themselves a Mexican restaurant. LOL

The jalapeño poppers are wrapped in bacon and are very good but they are also very spicy as they cook them with the seeds still intact. Other appetizers are on offer, but we only bought the poppers.

A good selection of drinks are available and several dessert options.

Overall, we will definitely go back again. Good value for the money, but again, my recommendation is to offer a double portion of beans and rice for the double fajita plates.

One star removed because of the portion size and the bathroom situation. I will provide an updated review after...

It took 25 plus minutes for someone to come take our drink order even though our server passed our table over 10 times serving other tables. We were well done with our complimentary chips, bean dip, spicy salsa dip and mushroom fresco ensemble. The salsa was hot with no drink to quench the heat. I ordered baja tacos, which came with a cup sized portion of rice and a cup sized portion of salad with no dressing. There was no warning to say the tacos were spicy, but oh, they were hot. I prefer mild things, so I would have preferred a heads up. We ordered a kid's meal for our kids, which came with a tiny burrito and portion of fries compared to any other restaurant we've seen. My husband had 3 burritos on his plate and they were all the same size as a child's portion. All in all, the 3 portions on the plates at our table were much smaller compared to other local Mexican restaurants with prices that were dollars higher. The young man at the register watched closely (he was a foot away leaning over the counter) as I signed the tip and bill, which may be offputting for some people. I had hoped for a quick, filling, affordable meal, and I didn't receive any of that. I'm not sure I'll be back again. I so wanted this to be my new favorite restaurant as others are claiming. The temperature was also unusually cold in the restaurant making it an especially disappointing visit. I say all this hoping to provide some tips for a better...

Have went here multiple times... food is delicious but EVERY single time the service is horrible and the wrong food is brought out. The first time we went we waited over an hour and a half for our food AFTER ordering just to have one of the meals come out wrong! Today we decided to eat there again. There was literally like 4 tables occupied in the whole restaurant with 3 waitresses...it shouldn't have been a problem with service, yet it was. We were seated and waited 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. Waited another 10 minutes for her to bring our drinks out. We never got chips and salsa...but yet a young Mexican couple walked in and got seated right away and the lady that was in charge of bringing chips and salsa to the tables looked like she was walking to us finally with chips and salsa, but then saw the young couple that just got seated and gave it to them instead after we had been sitting there forever. We got up to leave and still had not received our drinks. Yesterday I went there with a friend..the waitress brought out the wrong food, never checked on our table and we had to flag her down just to get a refill and it wasn't even busy. She looked at us multiple times as she was cleaning tables etc.. and never once checked on us. Just horrible service. We kept going back hoping maybe the service would get better since the food is really good but sadly it has not. We will not...
