Certainly a step above any donut shop. Busy busy up to the last minute, parking full nearby, impressive indeed. Ordered 4 small cinnamon rolls, after trusting the many praises as to how fantastic they were. These smaller version had a center of lemon glaze? Small amount to even tell, but sure, why not. Next I attempted to go for half a dozen cookie, but nearing closing time they only had 5 available, so they suggested some mini pastry (2) to qualified for the half dozen price of $10.99? I rapidly accepted. 3 of the sizable cookies were peanut butter? With m&m’s for color. Totally a let down. Grab some peanut butter, smother it with plenty of sugar, and you got a cookie whose main attribute is the sweetness. The other two, same size, one white and the other ginger like? The two many pastries nothing to rave about it, but obviously this place seems to be more than the blanks in what I selected. Plenty of female bakers, plus one older male doing this and that. Customer base healthy as a permanent small line never wavered. From customs wore I ventured to think Amish, Dutch? $21 total, but later these selected items prove to be below par. After all sugar shouldn’t be the main attribute on any cookie, and the cinnamon roll ($2.75 each) had zero appeal, the ones I use to buy at malls, nice and warm, better bargain. For what we tried 2.5 Stars, for the possible better items with benefit of the...

This place smells amazing, the food is very very good, and it was a pretty short wait for my order to be ready. The staff aren't especially warm to all customers but I probably wouldn't let that stop me from making future visits. My coworkers at the Chico State University Farm are always raving about how good the cinnamon rolls are but they were sold out when I visited because it was 3 days before Christmas so it's understandable. I found the bathroom to be very clean, brightly lit, and modestly decorated, and not too thickly scented. The whole cafe also looked pretty clean.

Update: I've been coming here pretty regularly and just tried the brisket sandwich for the first time and I must say, this is the BEST brisket I've EVER HAD in my ENTIRE LIFE. Definitely the best in Chico. Perfect texture...

Brought my wife and infant here to check out the restaurant while my Tesla got fixed. Literally never got our order and was rude in how they managed the situation. Kicker - the place clearly wasn’t comfortable with a black family. We won’t return and we will share with our community. Sad but in 2025 - folks still don’t value us.

Update - Our response to your response If it was simply a forgetting of our order - a review would not have been written - it was the “ what are they waiting for” by one of your staff members and the tone and tenor of the person who engaged with me as we asked for our refund. “What was your order?”

Again, I want to believe your response is true but the experience was bad. We wish you continued success but we cannot recommend a space that doesn’t value...
