I had a very unfortunate experience today. My daughter came home sick so I decided to pick up lunch. Chicken soup for her. After ordering I decided to make a second order of lemonade and dessert. My first order was delivered and placed on the table in front of me. While waiting on my second order I noticed the soup had leaked all over the other food and into the bag. I asked a worker for a new bag to switch my food out. She nicely offered to make me a new order. I declined the new food saying the food looked fine and I didn’t want to waste it so I just needed a new bag. She was very nice and re-bagged my food and gave me a fresh soup. When I got home the soup was all over my food again. The bag she had put the soup in was upright but the soup container was on its side and opened. Now my food was wet again and my daughter had noodles to eat instead of soup. Being frustrated I called to let them know it happened again. Instead of being understanding. I was scolded for not carrying the bag correctly and he was 100% sure the worker handed me the bag upright. I tried to explain that the bag was right but the soup container was on its side. He kept saying I was wrong and was very aggressive and insinuating I wanted free food. I told him I never asked for free food and even asked to have my original order even though it had been wet. He kind of apologized but his tone and rude aggressive behavior continued. He asked if I wanted a refund so at this point even more frustrated I agreed to the refund. He asked for my card number and when I didn’t have the number quickly he snapped at me saying he needed the card number to refund the money. He was incredibly rude and I am so disappointed with the...
Read moreMy first visit to Great Harvest Bread Co located at Esplanade and East Lassen intersection, immediately past the stoplight,on the left while heading south, in a smallish CVS helmed shopping center, next to Dominos. Fresh truly Homemade bread, hearty, tasty, perfectly textured. I bought turkey cranberry sandwich on the old fashioned white. Bread held shape, not doughy or breaking into pieces. Interior ingredients clean, fresh, layered so all textures enjoyed. Lovely menu options including build your own. I know the white will toast perfectly. My partner order multi grain with egg salad. Enjoyed very much. Bread varieties, baked treats and more Homemade choc chip cookie tasty, chewy, good quality chips, caramel hints for butter and sugar. No stinting on ingredients. Flavorful robust hot drip coffee. Clean setup. Sandwich makers not handling money for example. We can no longer ingest pepper, but they don't preseason with it like most places. But they have tasty seasoned offerings for those who can. Service was friendly, thoughtful and informative re products. Moderate pricing reflects costs to run a Calif businrss, staff and provide quality food. Looking forward to returning and buying loaves of bread also. Indoor dining available. Soft pleasant music in...
Read moreI popped into Great Harvest for the first time today! For being about 12:30 on a Friday, I was surprised at how empty the place was. There were two baskets by the door with clipboards, one for salads and one for sandwiches. The clipboards for sandwiches were gone, despite only one other person ahead of me, so I had to wait to start ticking off my order. Once I brought my completed form to the register, I paid and waited less than 5 mins to receive my order. The good? The bread was super fresh! The minor bummer? There were no options for rolls, sliced bread only, and no option to toast the sliced bread. This is a bakery that offers lunch options; I think I prefer my sammies from a true deli, with fresh sliced meat piled high. At $13.75 for Pastrami & Swiss on sourdough, I would have expected a bit more bulk. I would consider Great Harvest in the future for baked goods, but likely go elsewhere...
