La Hacienda — Restaurant in Chico

don't go here for the family experience, or expect to be welcomed or accommodated. Brought my family in from out of town and they told us they didn't have the staff to move 2 tables together, ok understandable, but when they sat us they expected the small kids to sit at a table 15 feet away. So wanting to be close enough to be able to control the kids we moved their table closer to ours. So keep in mind we were sitting in a room of the restaurant alone the main dining room had several groups of guests sitting together so no social distancing. Then we were told oh no the table has to be put back. Clearly the problem was the children who were well behaved, they lied to me about and did not want our business. Fine we left to eat somewhere else. Good job turning a potential great tip into a bad review. I'll never come back, and will tell anyone who will listen about your lying...

Dinner was great. Arrived just before it started to get busy. They seated us a large table since we were waiting for others to arrive. The margaritas were excellent. Our order was taken and served within 20 minutes. Portions were huge so expect doggie bags to go. Atmosphere was great, clean, nice, staff was great. Our waitor came out and asked if we had a special occasion to celebrate, just so happens we happen to have a birthday gal and they made a birthday card, came out with a cut out that you could put your face in, pictures were taken, ice cream to the birthday gal we had fun. This was my first time eating in the restaurant but second time eating their food. Their food is good let's get that out there first. It's not 5 stars but it's pretty tasty. That being said, the interior of the restaurant is a bit interesting. There are a few different types of flooring going on and some of the table orientations are a little wonky. But I didn't really mind it too much. The paper used under the chips looked like it was straight from the 80's which made me chuckle. I had the fish tacos and absolutely loved them!
