Atmosphere looks nice but you will be dining an arm's length from other patrons after your twenty minute wait. Their entire interior is quite compact.
The biggest red flag for any dining experience for me is when I am required to pay with cash only. I did not bring enough cash on hand to accommodate for the price of the meal and subsequently the cost of my meal rose $2 for the in-house ATM charge. I do not know if they require cash because of the debit/credit charge that they would incur, if it's an attempt to increase tips, or they just like having a ridiculous amount of cash in the store at any given time. Regardless of their reasoning, forcing this (possible) extra fee/burden on your customer is so anti-customer service, I simply cannot stand it. Not to mention the probability of tax evasion.
I ordered the Dragon Potatoes in search of some flavor as it's marketed as, "Crispy rosemary potatoes, black beans, jack cheese, jalapeños, sour cream, tomatoes, green onions and cilantro. Topped with slow-roasted carnitas and avocado sauce. Served with a corn tortilla." Sadly, I received three, I counted them, three slices of jalapeno, only one of which was edible as the other two slices had clearly rotting seeds. Overlooking the lack of actual spice from the absence of jalapeno, I saddled up for the rest of the meal with an open stomach. I felt the best course of action would be to mix the plate up and get all remaining flavors intertwined for ease of eating and to get the most out of it. Upon consumption I was left with a feeling of dismay with little to no flavor in the entire meal.
I only made it about half way through breakfast before discovering a hair in my meal. I nudged my friend to bear witness to me pulling a (roughly) eight inch hair out of my food. Both of us have short hair (under three inches) and couldn't be ours.
At this point in the meal, I stood up and made my way to the ATM to take my $2 penalty for not bringing cash and get out of here as quickly as possible. Upon my return the waitress adequately handled the situation. I was surprised any of this was happening as I was not going to say anything in the first place, but my friend felt obligated to let them know as he was concerned, being a food service employee himself.
Despite all of this, the Chai was excellent! Their drive-thru drink menu is the ONLY reason you should ever visit this establishment.
After this, my second visit, I will not be returning despite the concessions we were provided to rectify...
Read moreAbsolutely awful customer service. I was treated rudely by two servers and the manager over the course of two days and two different attempts to buy coffee. It is this company's policy to put their customers safety at risk. Any customers requesting to go orders are required to walk through the drive through line with cars. This is not safe to do. Additionally they make customers wait outside in 40 degrees weather after paying for their order. I asked the manager about this policy and was told they "make people stand outside even if it's raining" that's a direct quote. Not, they ask customers, no they make customers. I asked why I couldn't wait inside and I was told they don't allow people to create gatherings. I was a party of one, I do not meet the legal discription of a gathering. I insisted that it was freezing and asked how long I should wait outside until my order was ready and the manager walked away without acknowledging my question. Very insulting behavior. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone at all. And if I could figure out how to contact the owner I would beg them to reconsider their policies that risk their customers safety. I can't imagine that their insurance company approved this practice. I repeat absolutely AWFUL customer service. They are also cash only, this indicates to me that this is purely a money laundering front, very sus. Despite the terrible customer service and other dangerous and suspicious policies, the coffee was good and I'm sorry I won't be walking over from the office every day for another cup. Please consider your customers safety when creating...
Read moreEverything was wonderful.... up until I got the bill. The waitress treated the people next to me wit curtiousy when they left, but when it came my turn, she gruffly informed me of the cash policy, and I didn't mind, but when I returned from the in shop atm, my food and plates, and even my check was gone. I still wanted to sit and enjoy my drink, like the people next to me did, before I left. Ms. Thing returned and, with a snear, got my check again, and when I asked for change for my second $20, she acctually grabbed my money AND my tab I didn't get to read, and was actually rude when I reached out to get my tab. I asked her to get me my change, and when she sneared again, I threw down my other $20. Her brain decied to work apparently, and she realized I wanted change for my $20, not to just pay my tab. She walked away snearing and angry, and returned with money and, angrily slammed money on the counter, and loudly declared my change. I slammed my $1 tip on the counter, not that she deserved it. I WAS going to leave a $6 tip, but Ms.Thing's aditude changed that fast.
Because the food and service were excellent up to that point, this review gets 3 stars. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. The food was great, prices decent for the meal, and until I met Ms. Thing, the service was awesome for a rush on a Sunday.
Help me change this review, I don't think...
