I wish that I could leave zero stars. This has been an absolute nightmare. My son and I went in to buy a recliner for me. Sales person knew for me saying right from the beginning that I wanted to chair in half we went to the back of the store. There was a chair that I thought was going to be a chair and a half and I found out later, but it was not a year and a half that this chair doesnât come in a chair and a half but of course that was after months of waiting for it to be delivered. I called that store so many times trying to get them to change the information that they put wrong. They had my son down as the contact person for delivery and that was not the case. My name was supposed to be there for the delivery so my son works for the sheriffs department and he worked nights and he was getting woken up during the day by these people calling him the wrong name he gave me the phone number I called the person picks it up and then hangs up on me and I was right next to the delivery truck in my vehicle calling them trying to get them to turn around and come back because they have left my home and they werenât interested in coming back. They were just ready to go home. This happened two times on the third time I finally started raising a ruckus and saying what I needed to say in order for things to get changed so finally the chair gets delivered and I say this doesnât look right and this delivery guy say youâre gonna take it up with the store so I called the store because the first time I sit in it it makes a mechanical brake sound and then drops and then does not function properly so I call the store and I said Iâm done just come get this chair. I donât want it. I want my money back and I get no you signed a contract. You are not going to Get your money back and I said do I need to get legal representation and the sales girl says you probably donât want to do that cause many have tried and itâs gonna cost you more than the chair did and you wonât win you signed the contract so because I bought a chair and then paid more for a better quality Fabric Thatâs considered as a special order and you are not going to get your money back now the next thing is, I call the store to let them know that I havenât even got to use the chair. It broke two weeks later. I get a text message and theyâre trying to get me to set up a video so I can lift up the chair and let them look around in it and see if they can diagnose it through video. I said my God I am a disabled woman I cannot be lifting up That chair to help you diagnostic through through a video chat absolutely Ludacris you will not get your money back. They will continue to tell you you signed a contract. Itâs a special order. Thereâs no returning whatsoever. If there was something wrong with the chair, you should refused it on delivery. I said I did try. I told the guys at this chair didnât look right and they said youâll have to take it up to the store. Weâre just delivering The Sales girl did not tell me that once you buy a chair and if you had the fabric change that means itâs a special order and that means you will never get your money back and if the chair breaks the first time you use it you have to wait for a month to get somebody to come out not until February 20. Is someone coming out? I talked to the manager just a couple of days ago and she said she was gonna call the company that does the fixing and see if she could get a better date to come out to my house because October November December January February thatâs four months of waiting for this chair that I paid thousands of dollars at the Chico La-Z-Boy And it is not worth it. I am so disappointed. I am beyond disappointed and I have a severe spinal cord injury, and I am warning anybody who I can do not do business at La-Z-Boy stay away from him.    Read moreWe ordered 2 recliners and a sofa in January 2021 and paid the required 30% deposit. They told us that because it was a custom order, our furniture would not be delivered until July. The next updated completion time was October. Then December. Then February. Then finally in March, 2022 they said the sofa was ready but the chairs wouldnât be completed until July. We opted to pay the remaining balance for the sofa and continue to wait for the chairs. We scheduled delivery of the sofa and the day before delivery they confirmed drop off time of 2-5. I took the afternoon off work to be able to be home and available to finally get the sofa we have waited over a year for. The waiting continued and when they still hadnât arrived at 5 I called the local Chico store and was told that the delivery truck was 15 miles away. I continued to wait but they never showed up. The next morning after contacting the local chico store, the corporate office in Sacramento and the distribution center in Ontario California, I was FINALLY able to speak to someone regarding my order. Apparently they canceled my delivery because the âframeâ was damaged!!!! A brand new $4000 sofaâŚDAMAGED, and they didnât even have the decency to notify me they would not be delivered. Turns out they neglected to insert 2 cotter pins which caused visible âdamageâ to the frame. I had contacted the manager at the Chico store and tried to cancel my order and request a refund. I was told that was not possible because it was a custom order. I requested to cancel the outstanding order for the recliners and was told the same thing, but was assured they would be complete by July. I left a voicemail with the corporate office and never received a call back. Every conversation with the store manager was met with the same response, she would have to consult corporate. I requested she have the corporate manager contact me because obviously going through her was getting me no where. She finally called me back and stated they would cancel and refund my entire order. Thank goodness because my faith in the process and the quality of the furniture was non existent by this point. This process required multiple phone calls, unanswered emails and voicemails, and hours of my time. I would caution consumers to spend their hard earned money and precious time with this company. So if buying several items by each individual so if the price goes down they price match it! Store manager tried to tell me I wouldnât be able to buy each item separately. Yet I didnât receive a discount for buying multiple items. I could have easily purchase separately. This makes zero sense, what if I found a store that didnât carry all three items! Then what you wouldnât price match?!
I did edit my review because their furniture is far superior than other furniture. Yet they do have a long delay due to Covid right now, so hopefully my new furniture holds up like my current La-Z-Boy furniture has for over 10 years. When it comes to the price match I still recommend ordering separately in case each item goes down in price. Ordering separately really only effects any shipping offers they may have for buying multiple items. Today I received a phone call from the store manager who was able to reduce my overall order by approximately 140 dollars. The price difference was 220. It's not the full amount but I am still satisfied with it because it didn't effect my free shipping offer.
