View Street Tavern — Restaurant in Chicopee

The entire bar has been remodeled and updated. This is not the Septembers or View Street of years ago.

We had dinner there tonight and started with fried pickles and they were awesome. My wife had the chicken wings that were also very, very good; not over cooked. They're soaked in a brine to help them crisp up and bring out a great flavor, without the breading. They were 10/10.

The owner, of Portugese dissent, made me a soon to be posted dish of spicy shrimp, or shrimp Mozambique. This was another 10/10. This was very reminiscent of The Red Fez's spicy shrimp. Grilled bread to soak up the sauce and just the right amount of spiciness.

Service wise, it wasn't very busy, as it was a Sunday evening, but either way, the bartender and staff did a great job and they were very attentive. The current menu is a mix of a Portuguese cuisine and bar fare. What I saw come out of the kitchen were good sized portions and well presented dishes.

We will certainly be going back soon and look forward to the expansion...

Newly, beautifully renovated restaurant/bar, it is more a Family/Community Restaurant. Immaculately clean establishment, this is the place to bring the whole family. The View Street Tavern offers spatial areas to have community events, association, and club get-togethers, etc. The restaurant has a variably changing menu that caters to all...as well as a bar, pool tables, and a beautiful vista of the Connecticut Valley. Situated in a nice neighborhood, in an uncrowded area, it offers free parking to patrons. The chef provides excellently prepared food and the bar provides any kind of mixed drink. A bar counter is provided for food and drink while watching TV sports if that is of interest. Bring your friends and family. You won't be disappointed. We attended the dueling pianos last weekend. We arrived early to eat dinner before the show. Our waitress took our drink and food order, we waited about 30 minutes for the food to arrive. One of the burgers was wrong along with other items, our waitress never came back to check on us so I flagged down a friend of the owner that was helping out and tried 3 times to get the kitchen to make another burger..... 1 hour after that,,, I tracked down our waitress to ask if she could help out and about 10 more minutes finally got what we ordered over 1-1/2 hours ago. The place is nice but way understaffed to handle a full house. They did take the entry off the bill...
