Hilde's Deli & Bakery — Restaurant in Chilton

I ordered the Hawaiian Sandwich and changed out the pepper cheese for cheddar. I asked for the onions to be "grilled extra caramelized," and no lettuce, (the description on the front of the glass states it comes lettuce,) but the woman who waited on me said, "The sandwich doesn't come with lettuce." When the sandwich came, it was on grilled potato bread and enormous at that! I couldn't even eat the whole thing! It was served with a delicious, spicy side sauce on the side, reminiscent of a sriracha mayo. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. Both the ham and turkey were juicy and the pineapple added that extra sweetness that was needed when you used that spicy sauce. The cheddar cheese was melted over everything, warm and gooey, stringy as I pulled the sandwich apart. The cheese had a nice, aged bite, which means to me it was at least 7 months old or more, a nice aged cheddar. Good job picking out the cheese, Hilde's🙋. Kudos to you!😀 All around, it was a very flavorful sandwich! As a seasoned chef, I know a good place to eat and Hilde's is one of them where everyone needs to go and try her food. Holds cooks mostly the "farm to table" and makes the "from scratch" kind of cooking you'd get at home. Ohh, so good you wouldn't believe it. You really have to try it yourself. She runs daily specials that are priced out of this world! She also sells jarred pickles, fruits, barbeque sauce, pickled cauliflower, etc. There's also baked goods for sale, too. This is a hit or miss? The owner is a wonderful friendly lady who does her best to create a wonderful shopping experience and dine in. The deli deserts are wonderful, deli sides have been overly seasoned to the point of throwing away half of it. This restaurant makes a sassy Hawaiian melt which I believe is their calling card hands down I need that recipe (the $9 sandwich is worth paying) then there is the fried chicken where if the fryers have fresh oil it is one of the best fried chicken spots but if the oil is old or has been in the hot case too long it does not taste very good. One man when I saw that the fried chicken was down to the last 2 pieces I asked if they could make a new fresh batch for us, the man said no he can not and gave us the remaining scraps of chicken to eat on site. This time the fried chicken sucked, dried out and tasted old. If the man who worked there is at the register I will walk out immediately but if the owner is present my family will continue to buy her food because she tries her best to have food that is fresh and delicious that brings...

Delicious Turkey Swiss grilled to perfection! Hilde is friendly and welcoming! We arrived a few minutes past grill closing, yet she offered up fresh deli or a hot sandwich (we said, "Yes, please!) Clean facility. Excellent choices for deli and extras. You'll find Door County Coffee and Vern's Cheese as she supports Wisconsin and locals! Home-made bread?
