If I could provide negative stars I would.
My daughter, grand-daughter, and myself traveled from Southwestern Riverside County to patronize this establishment during a special occasion. After arriving at the restaurant, we had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to greet us outside and advise us to place our name on the waiting list. There was one other party of two listed before us.
After another 15 minutes passed, another staff person proceeded to seat individuals that arrived after us, not adhering to their own waitlist. In the meantime, the couple that arrived before us saw that everyone after them was being seated, got upset, and left.
After another 5 - 7 minutes, we were seated at a table right near the front door. We sat another 10 minutes waiting for a waitress to take our order, before we had to flag one down. During this time, the restaurant had emptied out and about 5 other table became available. We asked the staff if we could change tables, because every time the door closed it would slam loudly, shaking the table, which was also located right behind my back. Mind you this was the only door utilized to get in and out of the restaurant and the staff consistently went in and out this door to serve the patrons seated outside in the walkway. This staff member advised us that she would have to "plead" with the manager because she "always trips" on these types of requests because we had already placed our order. I advised if another table had been made available before we placed our order, we would have made the request at that time. My request wasn't unreasonable, as there were several empty tables in the same building, literally two spaces over from where we were sitting.
We sat witnessing the staff debating with two women in the kitchen area, as if she was an attorney trying to get her client off for a crime. In the meantime, the only part of our order that arrived to the table was our beverages. The staff returned to the table and stated that the manager was "tripping," denied our request and she might have to go "above to the owner." She then said that manager didn't want to relocate us because the other party sitting near the door might request to be relocated if we're allowed to move.
At this point, we decided that we're not going to patronize this small Black owned business with our Black dollars. We had already given this restaurant over an hour of our time and hadn't yet received so much as a glass of water.
I can't imagine how much business this restaurant looses on a regular basis due to their poor customer service, lack of organization, and management's inability to make sound business decisions that yield profits.
During my short tenure at this establishment, I witnessed at least 4-5 patrons complaining and leaving before spending their money. I know that this business loss out on making at least $200 with our order. Too many of these missed opportunities will eventually negatively impact their bottom line, which should be their profit margins.
Unless their to-go practices are much better than their in-person experience, I wouldn't waste my time and gas money on...
Read moreThis was my experience when my husband and I went this morning to eat at R & R Breakfast Spot. There were several customers there, so that told me the food must be good. Upon entrance I observed a handwritten sign on cardboard posted on the front door that read "Do not seat yourself". I thought ok this is a business so why isn't the sign printed, but nonetheless I entered. I was seated right away which was a plus, but the seating was a bit cluttered. I was greeted by the waitress in a reasonable amount of time, however when I inquired about menu items she was unfamiliar with them. She did not know what a Joyce Sunrise was and I was shocked. How are you presenting a menu that you have no clue about. Anyhow I placed my order and continued to observe. I noticed a server with distracting makeup, a bucket hat and long black artificial nails. It is my personal opinion that people serving food should not have long nails for sanitary reasons. I noticed that there were a lot of personal items on the counter like a backpack purse, Starbucks cups, hydroflask and a bath and body bag. I found that kind of odd. I observed several boxes of supplies on a counter near the restroom in plain view. I got the Eric (3 wings and a waffle) it came with a side as well, but the waitress told me that eggs would be an additional cost so I settled for home potatoes since there was no additional fee. I only got water, but the lemonade I saw did look tasty. After some time I could not find the waitress, but I did see what looked like my order on the order platform. A pleasant woman which I believe to be the owner or manager also noticed the food sitting there, so she took off her apron and proceeded to serve the plates that were waiting. I was impressed by this gesture. My chicken wings were hot and seasoned well. The waffle was flavorful and had a hint of vanilla. The home potatoes were just how I like them...cooked, but not mushy. After consuming my meal I asked for my check and the waitress told me I had to get it from the register. I approached the register and was told my total, but was not offered the bill for my review. I found that odd, so I asked for a copy and noticed the waitress had charged me for an additional waffle. I informed the staff, but still paid for it without requesting they remove it. All in all I would say outside of the food which was awesome there is some room for improvement with staff and organization of the environment. I would frequent this...
Read moreOverall time here (the start of a halftime football game to overtime) drove 45 mins to come to this place to support the business. Got sat before a big party yet our server took their order first. The server then took our order - said my order back to me. So I thought everything was okay.
We waited for 40 mins for only my husband to get his food. (Server doesn’t check on us before then) About 10 mins later - the server comes up to the table and notices that I do not have my food. So then I am waiting additional time for the server to figure out whats wrong.
Finally got my food from my server, put the plate down and realizes it’s the wrong food takes the food back and I’m sure she’s discussing with the cook how the order is wrong. Again, not my fault. Completely their fault. The server comes back with the same plate and asked if I want the the food with the wrong item. I shook my head now and then the server proceeded to get a new order in for me. That then took more additional time about 10 to 15 minutes.
I FINALLY get my food, but my husband is already done eating. I asked the server if I still have to pay for the food because I was not in the wrong. It was their fault. The server goes and “asks” and then comes back and says if I take the food home we have to pay for it. But can offer a lemonade to take home. WHY WOULD I WANT A LEMONADE. By then I have not eaten anything all morning. Blood sugar is low. My food was extremely late because of the server. I took the food and paid for it (husband said I needed to eat something because I was unwell. - ate some of it in the car and threw it out because it was wrong again. Horrible experience. There was one person that was nice and helpful the whole time and I appreciate her for that. Other than that… not coming back and do...
