Upon arrival to El Bronco on the evening of 12/20/22, there wasn't any available parking (I took this as a sign that either we shouldn't attempt to dine here, or it was an absolute must - we took our chances). When we walked in and got more of the lay of the land, every table was filled (on a Wednesday!) Turnover was quick though, and as a party of five we were somewhat easily accommodated by a booth for four, with an extra chair on the end. Along with the de riguer complimentary chips and salsa, they also provided us with the "white sauce" that nobody seems to know the name of, but seems to have become a staple in a lot American Tex-Mex restaurants. I think one of the true tests of a Tex-Mex joint are the margaritas, which I skipped this visit due to my already having over indulged in sweets that seem to be inescapable during the holiday season. One of my dining companions however ordered a Jumbo Lime and she said it was close, but still not quite as good as the Margaritas at El Rodeo on N. Main in Blacksburg, which is our go-to for Margaritas and the gold standard against which all others are measured. (Go see the owner Saul and tell him I sent you.) Their (El Broncos) Jumbo, however, is not as Jumbo as some. I ordered the Fajitas Marinas which is, as you can probably guess, the seafood fajitas, which includes tilapia, shrimp, and scallops. They came out sizzling, and once I let things cool down and dove in, I found that everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I took my time to savor every bite, and there were a lot of bites due to the generous portions, especially of the fish. Due to the restaurant being full, the service was a bit slower as you would expect, but not painfully so by any means and it was never an issue. I imagine most of the time this isn't remotely an issue. From this point on, El Bronco is my default Christiansburg...

I usually don't order from third party because I know they charge fees. But what I do want to say is that I live in a town called Harrisonburg Virginia located about 2 hours away from Christiansburg Virginia where this restaurant El bronco Mexican bar and grill is located. I made a quick stop before heading to my destination not knowing of what I was about to discover. I am very very difficult to please when it comes to Mexican dining. Because of the fact that I'm born in Texas and no what real authentic Mexican food tastes like looks like and I believe that everywhere I have gone as far as Maryland Georgia Virginia Mississippi Alabama Louisiana Louisiana Florida Kansas have ever sat there while eating my food and thought oh my gosh this tastes like my grandmother's cooking or my mother's cooking or just brings back memories from Texas. And that is exactly what I have found here at El bronco Mexican bar and grill. It has taken me back to in time and I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to have finally found a place that actually creates authenticity. It does not matter how many hours I have to drive I will be coming back as much as I can and just letting anyone and everyone know about this amazing place thank you El bronco Mexican bar and grill...

I normally go here to eat but tonight the service was really bad!! And the waiter of mine not only seen three times on top of that there was another way to setting with his family couldn't even bother to let our waiter know that we were done we sit there for about 30 45 minutes just waiting on our check on top of it I asked for certain stuff I never got it my food arrived and I had to ask for my drinks the waiter was the absolute worst I have seen I talked to the manager and he said oh he had this big group the big group come in after my husband and I were done eating there's no reason I shouldn't have got my check before he was worried about getting a bigger tip from these people so I don't believe we will be going back and that's a shame because it was one of my favorite places to eat!! My big thing is you have three to four waiters there that includes mine why couldn't one of the other three come check on us since he was so worried about the...

Stopped for lunch… These native San Diegiens, are perfectly full and happy. Haven’t had that good of Mexican food in aloooonggg time. Our wait staff was happy and ready to assist. The chips, salsa and white quest/salsa was a treat in itself - than add the Quesadilla Texana was soo good, took me a moment to think why and it was because y’all used the perfect amount of cheese, it was not overloaded with greasy cheese, just enough to keep it all together. My husband chose the Chori-Pollo, between the chicken and pineapple he was in heaven. Christiansburg y’all got a Mexican food treasure. Will be stopping by next time we drive up this way from Texas. Y’all stay in business!!

El Bronco can’t be Beat! Our family ate here for lunch on Sunday. We arrived about five minutes before they opened at noon. There was already a significant line of patrons waiting outside the door. Once the door opened, the line moved quickly and we were seated by friendly staff. Their menu is extensive, with a good variety of dishes to choose. I had the Camarones Loco - shrimp and scallops with peppers, squash and zucchini, all over a bed of rice and topped with cheese sauce. The dish was excellent! The prices are very reasonable, with our four entrees costing $66, tip included. Definitely worth another visit.

I love this place because not only is the quality good, the value is also good. You get an entrée, a side of rice and beans, and a bunch of chips and salsa for like $15. The chips and salsa are also included in takeout orders which is so sweet. This is such a good little place to eat mexican food near downtown christiansburg. I highly recommend the authentic carne asada tacos (pictured). The waiting staff knows how to get it done! They have horchata here too which is a real authentic delight. visit el bronco for some good quality food, service, and fun!
