Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Christiansburg

If I could give zero stars I would . This location is always terrible… the only reason we came is because my Fiancé wanted Sonic. Here is how my experience went tonight. After waiting 15 minutes after pushing the bottom someone finally asked what we wanted . Also want to mention they were not busy at all there was only one other car there with us at this time at 10:00 pm … I asked for a large chilli cheese tot with jalapeños . A lady told me “ we don’t have tots right now can we make it fries instead?” I said “ would you guys offer a discount on them if I agree to do fries ?” I was screamed at in the speaker and told no. Which is fine to say no but screaming like that is absolutely unacceptable. So we moved to a mobile order stall and decided to make a mobile order. We ordered a slushy, a ranch wrap and a groovy fry. Once we got our food AGAIN AFTER A LONG TIME, I’d say the second wait was about 20 additional minutes for that small order our fries were cold and hard like they have been sitting out for hours . The place was very dirty and there was 3 people outside smoking and talking , ( probably the reason our food took so long to get to us ) . Very terrible experience. Food bad, customer service bad, cleanliness bad I will never come back...

Tuesday night right at midnight my husband and I pulled in to Sonic in Christiansburg. A young gentleman came out and asked if we were ordering food or just drinks, I politely said, "food, if its not too late." He said "no problem, but its going to take a few minutes." After we ordered our food we only had to wait 10 minutes and got fresh made tots and a burger and blt toaster. He said we had pulled up as they had just turned off everything and was closing so they had to heat the grill back up and apologized again for it taking "so long". I told him I was impressed that he didn't turn us away and thanked him as I explained why we were out so late, (we had just gotten out of the emergency room and had been frantically trying to find a place we could just pull through or pull up to to eat because they had to cut my husbands clothes off and he only had scrubs on.) The guy was very sweet and apologized for our troubles. I paid for our food and he went back in and came back out a few minutes later to explain the lights would be turning off but to feel free to sit there as long as we needed. This is an example of EXCELLENT SERVICE. He had no idea of our circumstances and still...

Went through the drive thru for lunch today and sat at the window for 25 minutes waiting on my food! Would have left but they already took my money when I pulled around. The place wasn't even busy! Car after car behind me sat at the drive thru and ended up just leaving because no one took their order. They were lucky! Once I finally got my order (1 hotdog and one pretzel twist) I thought I better check it before I left... Low and behold it wasn't even a hotdog in the wrapper! It was tater tots! Instead of waiting another 20-30 min to get this corrected by hitting a button at the stall I took it back to the kitchen directly. Swapped out for what was ordered initially, and also got some lip from a young girl (I assume the manager....) for coming directly to them at the entrance to their kitchen. This store is by far the worst I've ever visited and the staff give zero F's about running it right nor care what others have to say about their location after reading the endless negative Google reviews! I highly recommend NOT visiting this place (can't even call it a restaurant) EVER! It's a shame... I like Sonics food, but I'll never go back...
