Larry’s Pit BBQ – Sunday Morning Drive-Thru Delight

We stopped at Larry’s Pit BBQ bright and early on a Sunday morning at 7:20 AM, and let me tell you—it was worth the early rise.

We pulled into the drive-thru, passing the first window where the menu board lives (seems like it’s more for decoration these days) and rolled on to the next window. A pleasant young lady greeted us with a smile and asked if we had called ahead. We hadn’t, but she took our order quickly and with a friendly manner.

We went for two breakfast platters: two eggs over easy, perfectly cooked breakfast potatoes, and hearty biscuits smothered in rich, creamy gravy. One platter came with four plump sausage links, the other with four crispy bacon strips—both generous portions that would satisfy any appetite.

Payment was quick (yes, they do like to be paid everywhere we go), and the wait was surprisingly short for such a freshly made breakfast. The same friendly young lady brought our order right to the window, hot and ready to enjoy.

Great little family restaurant that has the best BBQ. When we stopped in the BBQ basket was $9 with 3 sides! BBQ was outstanding and I got it with the chow. My 3 sides were onion rings ( they make their own), small salad and green beans cooked cooked down with onion and bacon like grandma used to make. My dining companion got the same BBQ basket but her sides were slaw, baked beans, and the homemade onion rings. I ate all my salad and green beans but ended up bringing 1/2 the sandwich home for a meal the next day. Companion wolfed down the baked beans, onion rings (did I mention they were home made?) half of the slaw and 1/2 of BBQ for lunch the next day. No room for the homemade pie! The 2 baskets and 2 teas were $24. Not shabby for that much food and it was homemade! I'd go to a mom pop place over a chain any day! 6+ stars, highly recommend that BBQ sandwich and those homemade...

Sunday jun 23rd 2024. Walked into the restaurant at 12:39 and we orded our drinks and food at the same time, there was 4 of us got our drinks quickly, at 1:30 we got up i payed for the drinks and we left,never recived our food and never got one refill, in that amount of time we watched 2 different people come in order and get there food,same stuff as we ordered also so it was pretty disappointing. Asked about our food 2 different times and she said she would check but never come back....
