My hubs and I went to this place for the very first time on Sunday around 10am. We had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated which was expected on a Sunday. We were seated outside which was pleasant considering San Diego weather. The environment was inviting with soft pink seats and tables accented with gold utensils and white napkins with their label printed in pink. I must say the environment was a good experience considering we arenât into pink. We enjoyed and appreciate the look and colors chosen.
Our experience was great until we began to be served. To start, we ordered coffee and iced peach tea. It took almost 15 minutes just for my hubs to receive his warm coffee and an additional 10 minutes after that for me to get my tea. Instead of bringing both out at the same time, the waiter brought out one before the other. My hubs got his coffee first, then I got my tea 10 minutes later. Our food came 20 minutes after my husbands coffee. It doesnât make sense to wait for our order longer than it took to be seated unless you are at stake house. Usually an effective business would bring both out at the same time. Not sure why it would take so long to bring out peach tea that taste like you licked a balloon. This tea was terrible! Iâve had better canned tea from a gas station.
Our first meal ordered was the birriaquiles (chilaquiles with Birria) with an added order of eggs to it. First of all why would you have to âaddâ eggs to it when it should be part of the meal. Second, it was $4 to add one egg. Seriously? The egg looked like a flat half slice of bread all for $4. I was able to gulp down the egg in two bites. Pretty expensive add on. The tortillas on the top were crispy and coated with green chile sauce but I only had two chips with that wonderful texture since the bowl was almost half filled with the sauce. I love chili verde but donât drown the chips in it. The rest of the chips were so soaked that it taste like I was eating noodles. The meal came with pickled onions which were good but it was way too salty. The combination of pickled onions and chile verde sauce made the dish too salty. Maybe regular red onions would be good. Now, for the birria, it taste like canned beef. Pretty cheap dry texture with NO birria seasoning, just dry meat. I ended up unpleasantly slurping my noodle chip dry birria soup.
The second meal was âRevuletoâ (eggs and Avocado slices, corn tortillas, and bacon. I canât believe this meal was $18. The portion size of this meal was too small. My hubs finished this pretty try fast. On the plus side, the bacon, eggs, and avocado was pleasant. The corn tortillas (3 of them) were delicious but we have had better. For that price we were hoping for a better taste and portion size.
Overall, the food for this place was mediocre in taste and overpriced. If youâre looking for a place with good food, donât come here. The food here was very bland. You can go to another place and get a better portion size and taste for the value. The only thing this place has over everyone else is the decor of the environment and the plating. Just because the meal is presented good doesnât mean it taste like a $20 plate.
Donât get me wrong, this place isnât all bad, itâs the taste of the food. I donât think anyone comes here for the food, Instead they come for the environment and presentation of the food. That isnât necessarily a bad thing, but itâs just not what we are looking for. Sometimes you just wanna take your friends or your family to a very nice looking place. If you want a place where it looks Wonderfully decorated, themed, with an elegant style, this is the place for you. If youâre looking for a place with really good food, nope, it doesnât cut it. I gave one star for the environment and one star for plate presentation but thatâs it. We are definitely not...
Read moreI am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the experience I had at your restaurant today.
I visited your place with my sisters earlier today, and we were informed that there would be an hour-long wait. Despite this inconvenience, we decided to patiently wait. However, when we approached one of your employees after the designated time, we were informed that we would have to wait an additional 45 minutes. This sudden change in waiting time was frustrating and disheartening since we had a baby with us.
We requested to speak with a supervisor, and to our dismay, she appeared briefly, offered excuses, and promised to address the situation. Unfortunately, she never returned, leaving us ignored and unimportant. The lack of apology and the absence of any effort to rectify the situation only added to our disappointment.
It is my belief that your restaurant should have communicated the actual waiting time accurately from the beginning. This would have allowed us to make an informed decision and potentially explore other dinning options. The prolonged wait and the unprofessional behavior exhibited by your supervisor and employees have left a negative impression on us.
As a customer, I believe that good customer service and effective communication are essential in any establishment. Unfortunately, my experience today fell short of these exceptions. I sincerely hope that you will take this feedback into consideration and address the issues raised to ensure that further customers do not encounter...
Read moreHorrible wait times. Never even had a chance to sit and eat. Walked in at 11am and was told a wait time for 15 minutes for a party of three. They took my phone number down and texted me my confirmation. Went to the confirmation and it said estimated wait time 20 minutes. We waited the 20 minutes in my car due to the rain. Walked back inside and asked how much longer was the wait and was told another 15 minutes. We waited again this time till 11:40 so now itâs been 40 minutes. I walked back in and asked once again how much longer and they proceed to tell me oh did we say 15? We meant 50! Then why did the confirmation say 20 minutes the first time? We decided to wait thinking ok well 50 minutes will have passed in the next ten minutes. WellâŠâŠ we waited till 12:10pm and still no call! I walked in again and saw a party who just walked in was seated instantly along with another party who got seated another smaller table. The hostess proceeded to explain that they were seated because they fit in the table meant for 4 people and since we are a party of three we have to wait for the smaller tables. And that the other couple got seated because the other empty table was reserved for someone else ?????
Make it make sense please. So after waiting over an hour with my 4 year old and friend in the car we left because they still said we had to wait longer. Ridiculous.
Will not be waisting my time here...
