Tacos TiaJuana — Restaurant in Chula Vista

Went today Friday 9/5/2025 right after they opened they open at 11:30am this place never disappoints but today was not one of those days 🥲 this was my first time ever going when they open I usually go at night so idk if that had anything to do with it but 1. They didn’t have any aguas frescas ready, which is one of the reasons I love coming here fine we ordered a water bottle I ordered an asada quesataco & my friend ordered 2 tacos 1 adobada & 1 asada as soon as I sat down after giving us our order I immediately noticed the carne asada didn’t look like their usual carne asada and the adobada didn’t look the way the adobada tacos usually look either. I took a bite of my quesataco and right away it tasted like they had mixed carnitas or cabeza in there and the carne asada tasted like it was from a day before, you know how when you heat up leftover carne asada and the edges are hard ? Just like that & I KNOW the way different meat types taste this was not fresh carne asada AT ALL. I started looking at the carne and sure enough there was another type of meat mixed in there & my friend said the same thing. Other times there’s someone outside grilling the carne asada but there was not even a grill in sight, the tortillas however were amazing. If they didn’t have any meat ready they could of just told us and we would of just had lunch somewhere else what’s the point of having specific business hours but not have certain things on your menu ready or fresh & I mean that in the nicest way..like I said I love coming here & I’m going to give them another chance I know all businesses don’t always have good days and maybe today...

Saw the Tiktok that ( The Taco Fiend) made and we decided to come try this spot. We ordered to-go and we waited exactly 1 hr. They were busy when we arrived which is understandable. It was worth the wait though, they did not disappoint!

Food:

Handmade tortillas were well made with great texture and great taste. Tacos were big and packed.

I tried cabeza, asada, and adobada Quesataco ( flavor was on point on all of them , I did like that they add salt packets so you can season the right amount to your liking: I did have to add salt to the cabeza one).

Agua de platano was delicious!! Recommend trying it out. Pepino with limon y chia had good taste as well.

Service and Ambiance:

Cashier was friendly. They do have couple tables with plenty of seats and feels nice and cozy. Great music playing. They did ask if we wanted to wait there or get a call while we waited for our food but we decided to wait outside and enjoy their music.

Parking:

plenty of parking on the street, we did not struggle to find parking even though it seemed busy.

Desserts:

They also had a girl selling desserts on a table on the side : we got chocoflan and regular flans. They were really good as well. She was friendly.
