"BBQ Ribs" bowl was not available even though it was a featured new entrée. Per another customer, it doesn't ever seem to be available. Heard employee say it took too long to prepare. The Japanese noodles had a lot of prep trash (i.e., pieces of onion, cabbage/lettuce, and other vegetables mixed in both bowls). This is different than previous servings. Both the orange chicken and grilled steak had good taste and acceptable texture. The diced potatoes were too dried out to be good, but were editable. Word to the wise, a couple of other customers and I were discussing how important it is to check your to-go orders. All of us had previous orders missing major components, e.g., meat bowl with only vegs. Two out of three employees handling my order were professional and friendly. The male who called my name just left the order on the counter and wandered off. Had to wait five or so minutes for someone to get free to help me. UPDATE: When I got home, I only had a small amount of the grilled steak, but ate all of the orange chicken.. Yesterday, I tried to eat the rest. There were three long (aprox. 2") strings of tough gristle and about a third of the meat was burned. Didn't try to finish it. Not at all what I've had in the past.

Ordered on drive thru and wasted 15 minutes approximately all together for a Combo XL and a bowl. We started honking for their attention after 10 minutes and they were too busy laughing with a coworker not preparing our food. After (Linebuster1-as shown in receipt idk why her name was not used) who is a pale Latina with light brown hair gave us our food, at the 15min mark, she was being dismissive and did not apologize for the wait and that’s why I frustratedly told her why the wait and she just said “because the beef was being cooked” and I proceeded to ask for ginger and gave us small 2 packs for 1 combo XL and one bowl to me it seems like she acted it was coming out of her paycheck by how stingy she was so my sister annoyingly asked for more. After leaving the window her toothpick scrawny coworker left the side door without looking side to side.In the end you guys hire people who DON’T pay attention to their surroundings and customers. That especially goes for you (Linebuster1)

I visited Yoshinoya at the Chula Vista location on May 13 at approximately 9:20 PM to order dinner. My order was simple: 1 XL Combo with double chicken teriyaki, 1 regular combo with double chicken teriyaki, 8 fried shrimp, and a fountain drink.

After placing my order in-store, I initially planned to dine in, but my girlfriend suggested we take it home since the dining area was about to close. We left around 9:38 PM and arrived home at 9:58 PM. To our disappointment, upon opening our meals, we found two regular gyudon combos, completely different from what we ordered.

I immediately called Yoshinoya to report the mistake. The employee on the phone checked their logs, confirmed exactly what I ordered, and still insisted she had provided the correct meals. Despite my request to log the issue so I could return later for the correct order due to the inconvenience of driving back immediately, she refused, stating I must return immediately for an exchange.

Frustrated and hungry, we drove back to Yoshinoya, arriving at around 10:20 PM. By this time, the dining area was closed, and the drive-thru was occupied, leaving us no option but to knock on the locked door. The same younger employee who initially made the error opened the door, took our untouched incorrect order, and left us waiting outside.

Upon verifying the order, she realized her mistake, even glancing back at us apologetically. Despite confirming her error, they did not allow us inside, nor did the manager who had doubted our claim even speak to us directly. The younger employee admitted they had thought we were lying, making us feel disrespected and undervalued.

To further compound the inconvenience, once we received our corrected order, we discovered they had forgotten to include condiments. This forced us to knock on their locked door yet again, adding further embarrassment and frustration to an already poor experience.

This unfortunate series of mistakes turned a simple dinner pickup into an hour-long, frustrating ordeal, leaving us hungry and deeply dissatisfied. The lack of customer care, accountability, and basic courtesy from this Yoshinoya location is unacceptable.

I strongly urge corporate management to address these customer service issues promptly to prevent further negative experiences for...

I’ve been a Yoshinoya fan since the 1980’s when I was in college. This particular location is the only one near me and has been fine for the past 10 years.

I went to the drive through last week and sat at the speaker menu for 10 minutes before a guy asked for my order. I got halfway into it and he says “hold a sec” another 10 minutes go by and a woman gets on and say “be with you in a second”. Another 10 minutes passes and the original guy comes back on and takes my order. There were only 2 cars ahead of me when I got in the drive through. If there wasn’t a car behind me i would have escaped.

I finally get to the window and the woman hands me a bag, I ask for the drink and she says I didn’t order one. I ask for the Gyoza and was told the same. Instead of blowing up at her I asked if everything was OK? She said people were missing and they were struggling.

I really like the food but I’ll never get this 35-40 minutes of my life back. Maybe in a few months I’ll try again. Based on recent reviews I see this is a trend though.

UPDATE: Their generic response is a big nothing burger. A generic "Were looking forward to hearing from you".

I already have been heard. Maybe it's time for an actual person to reply with the Company perspective (i.e. We were understaffed...we had to fire an employee etc...we don't care what...

This is the 3rd time out of the last 3 times I have been to this location where they have both screwed up my order, the service has been sub-par, and the food mediocre at best. I ordered online this time, got the confirmation and it said the food would be ready at 8:55pm. I got to the restaurant at 9:05, and not only was the food not ready, they didn't even have my order. The employee said very little as I showed him my confirmation on my phone. He didn't apologize or offer anything for the inconvenience, but tried to memorize my order and relay it to the kitchen, which he obviously didn't do too well on because I ordered brown rice and got white, which was all mushy. I also added spring rolls, which were crispy on the outside, but also just a mushy, tasteless mess inside. The overall attitude of the employees and quality of food and service really is poor here. and the last time this happened I made a review and was contacted by corporate and offered "free food". I had hoped they would also make improvements, but apparently nothing has changed. I seriously recommend staying as far away from this place as possible, and I will not be going back even if offered free food again.

This is just unacceptable and clearly the owner...
