I came to this restaurant for the first time and ordered take out. The menudo lacked flavor and was bland for my taste. I order a large Red Menudo and the portion was small for the container they give you. They serve you more broth water down than menudo and Hominy. The vegetables they provide with the order of menudo is 1 yellow lemon with diced purple onions, mint and some toasted whole chile de Arbol. They do not give you enough corn tortillas and they become a little bit stale after you take them out from the aluminum foil to eat. May I suggest some salsa, oregano, green Mexican limes and cilantro on the side to add a better flavor. The flavor of their homemade tortillas are ok but a little bit to thick and raw in the middle. Customer service is not that great and they take CASH only. Waiting for take out if you walk in instead of calling is about 20+ minutes, and they do not give you an estimate of how long you will wait. The place is small to have to many tables and people dinning in with not enough space to walk thru. For the times we are living in, I would not feel safe to dine in. Overall I would give it a 5 out of 10 with much needed improvement in their take out orders and...
Read moreThe place was very busy and the line was out the door. So, we decided to wait and give it a go. When we got seated we immediatly were asked if we wamred anyrhing to drink. They gave us our coffee and then came back to take our oder. We asked for 2 menudos one white and one red and 1 carne asada burrito. They informed us that they do not serve carna asada on the weekends. The menudo tasted very watery and it was a little cold. However, the tortillas and the beans were the best part of the whole experiance. I do not recommend this place for menudo but if you want good homemade tortillas and beans...
Read moreOnly Cash!!! No plastic transactions. Regardless of the comments above or below, in my opinion and experience as a customer, the menudo soup served here is the closest flavor Mexican style, the employees are nice most of them women, if you want to enjoy a good menudo soup in southern San Diego, this is the right place to do it., an alternative to crossing the Mexican Border in Tijuana. The place is small and weekends are packed, parking lot is wide and free, HOWEVER…!! More AC is needed because the place is closed, no ventilation from outside it and gets hot inside especially in...
