After a year as regular, I have never been disappointed. Both locations are a gem. Great coffee, well made espresso and everything from the kitchen is tasty. They offer local baked goods and are a wine bar later in the day. They are friendly and a generally welcoming vibe to all that come through the door. They keep things clean and well run in a bright atmosphere. The attention to detail is noticeable and so is the genuine care for the customer. This is a great atmosphere to meet with co workers, friends or sit in the corner with noise cancelling headphones to get some work done. Let's talk coffee though... Like everyone I have my preferences but can enjoy coffee on many levels be it latte, cappuccino, espresso, or plain black. The coffee here is locally roasted and will satisfy anyone who is tired of the overheated acidic or bitter many discerning coffee lovers often associate with the likes of Starbizucks. This coffee is smooth and worth every penny. If that is your jam, you will enjoy. On the espresso side of things they approach their drinks in a more European style, that is to say that the lattes for instance are less sweet and more natural. Standouts include the Honey Latte, and to eat Avacado Toastie or the Dirty Nati for breakfast time. It's worth mentioning that in true Cincinnati spirit they not only offer a great experience but seem like a genuinely good family that cares about the community. Life is too short to drink bad coffee so go here. This is exactly the kind of place that...
Read moreBeautiful place! Just a little disappointed. Here are two notes of constructive criticism:
Drinks: Fast service, beautiful latte art, but our cappuccino and mocha latte came out almost room temperature- much colder than expected. The barista must not have steamed the milk long enough. Took away from our enjoyment. Please ensure temperature of drinks are up to standard.
Food: Fast service, beautiful presentation. We ordered an egg sandwich and potatoes with a side of egg. I was surprised that they didnât ask how I would like the side of egg prepared. So I had to ask how the egg will be prepared and they said âItâll be sunny side up, is that ok?â Felt slightly judged in that moment. The egg sandwich was fine. However, the potatoes came out extremely salty. Itâs like they dumped 1/4 cup of the spice mix on the plate. I tried eating it while scraping off the salt, but it was overwhelming so I went up to an employee- the barista- and I asked if this was typical or a mistake. He said it was normal, so I said I donât like it. I was disappointed he didnât do anything to fix the situation, he just took my plate. Please watch how much seasoning is used. Iâd recommend about a...
Read moreIf youâre looking for one of the most charming and community-minded coffee shops in Cincinnati, Mom ânâ em Coffee on Whetsel Avenue in Madisonville should be at the top of your list. This local gem was started by brothers Tony and Austin Ferrari as a tribute to their momâand that warm, welcoming energy is exactly what you feel the moment you walk in.
We tried two of their breakfast sandwiches, both made fresh and full of flavor. The Classic Egg & Bacon is simple but done perfectlyâfluffy egg, crisp bacon, and a balance that makes it our favorite. The seasonal Mushroom Melt (we added an egg!) is a must-try too, with earthy mushrooms, fig jam, and peppery arugula creating an unexpectedly delicious combo. Paired with a beautifully made mocha, it was the perfect weekend breakfast.
The atmosphere is cozy, eclectic, and full of lifeâlots of tables, window seats, and counter space whether youâre catching up with friends, working solo, or just enjoying a slow morning.
