Really like what they've done with the place. The first thing everyone noticed, aside from the esthetic changes, was that there was no musty smell (iykyk).
The updates really popped.
Our waitress was very outgoing and friendly and took our drink order right away. We got our water right away. It took a bit for us to get our alcoholic drinks, but they were pretty busy at the time so that was understandable (7:15PM).
Two in the party got the spinach artichoke dip. I didn't try it but the other three went on about how good it was.
Two of us shared the chicken parmesan sliders with waffle fries and I had a couple (cherry?) bourbons. The bourbons were top-notch. The sliders and waffle fries were room temperature at best. The chicken itself was good as was the marinara; but both the sandwiches and fries would have been much better if warm/hot.
The other two in the party got a combination of a veggie slider, cod slider and prime rib flatbread. They spoke highly of them all.
As I said before, our waitress was very outgoing and friendly.... But we were surprised when our bills were brought out before we were even asked if we wanted another drink, or even dessert. We ended up going up to the bar about 15 minutes later to get another round of drinks. No big deal - just thought it was odd and felt we were kind of "rushed" to leave.
If you're looking for unbiased feedback/ratings, don't look on BD B&D Circleville's Facebook page. They either block individuals or delete any posts that aren't completely complimentary towards them. They cannot take constructive feedback. (I believe "they" probably could, but whoever runs their social media page can't). Good luck finding any comments or ratings that aren't completely complimentary - unless non-complimentary feedback is followed up by a backlash from other followers (to which BD B&D Circleville loves those comments). They keep those up for show.
This place has a LOT of potential but whoever runs their social media page needs to learn how to work with the public and be...
Read moreVisited the restaurant tonight for dinner and drinks. Steak was cooked to perfection as always. Our waitress was fantastic. She was so sweet and helpful. and on top of our needs. I'm giving this review an overall 4. Atmosphere is 3 for the following. I never do reviews, but I feel tonight's experience warrants one. Tonight we witnessed the manager, I think her name is Nicole, completely make a scene in the middle of the restaurant yelling at a young employee. This is probably that poor girls first job and she probably doesn't get paid enough to be treated the way she was treated by the manager tonight. I've seen the young girl in there before and she's always kind and helpful. Whatever that child did, the manager made it a point to yell at her in front of the entire restaurant yelling her name and what she did to everyone within hearing distance making a huge scene. This was entirely inappropriate, unprofessional and completely uncalled for. A good manager would pull the employee aside and speak to them in private not humiliating the poor kid in front of the entire staff, and customers. It was completely uncomfortable for me as a customer so I can't imagine how she felt. I feel horrible for the girl. The entire restaurant was watching and listening. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've seen this manager make herself look like a complete jerk. She is absolutely RUDE and obviously immature. If this is how she treats employees, I'm surprised you have any staff left. She should be ashamed of herself. If this is how staff is treated, I don't think this is an establishment I want to return to. The manager is the one who needs reprimanded and I recommend she reevaluate her management...
Read moreOur first time going to Black Diamond so anxious to try it. We were seated upon entry. Our drink order taken as we looked over the menu. There were 3 of us and we each had a different dish starting with the onion soup. My daughter liked it, but I was disappointed in it. I must say I'm picky about my onion soup. This one was good, but not great. For my taste it was too thick with onions and not enough broth or bread. The cheese was nicely melted in the bowl so the presentation was good. The rest of the meal was very good. I had prime rib and it was cooked perfectly med. rare very tender and super tasty. Other entrees were the bacon wrapped scallops and the filet both were reported as wonderful. Our salads were fresh and crispy and as sides we had augratin potatoes, green beans and mushrooms all were very tasty and considering that each dish fed all 3 of us I felt the cost was more then reasonable. We are very lucky to have such a nice restaurant located in Circleville and it is not overly expensive considering the quantity and quality of the food. I hope everyone will visit them. Their menu is varied with beef, chicken, fish, pasta and pork dishes available. I was a little perplexed about one thing, the waiter spilled a whole glass of ice water onto my daughters lap and they never offered her any type of discount or even a dessert. She was very nice about it and he apologized, but most restaurants would have done something extra. All things considering we will...
