Highland Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Citrus Heights

I am pretty critical of Chinese restaurants, and this one was not a disappointment in any way! We ordered Dinner #2 for 3 people. Everything was entirely delicious and visually pleasing. The cashews were big and whole, the meat was seasoned well, and the pork fried rice was a good standard and not too dry and not too wet. Portions were good, as well. I was especially impressed by the beef dish and the egg rolls. I'm not a big fan of eggrolls, but I liked these! I'm also not a fan of beef dishes, and I was surprised how tender the meat was and tasty.

We ate in on a Saturday night about 6:30, there was a lot of easy parking. The service was very nice, quick, and professional with personality. We like some sassiness! The portions were good, and the food came quickly. We substituted the soup, and our server didn't blink. Take out was constant, and the in-dining was occupied, but plenty of empty tables (reservations not needed).

Overall, this is my new favorite because they failed at nothing! I'm looking forward to trying my usual take-out favorites and more of those yummy egg rolls. It's so nice to enjoy so many dishes from a...

My family and I have been eating at this place for over 15 years. A few years ago it changed ownership but most of the recipes are the same and there are a few improvements to the already amazing food options Every time I make it back to . Sacramento I have to come here to get the Hot and Sour soup. It is the best I have had IN THE WORLD, seriously. I also highly recommend the garlic chicken, almond chicken, won ton soup, foil wrap chicken, po po platter and chicken chow mien. I have been here a lot of times, and I tried to give it a chance. The service is very bad, everytime I go it is the same lady. Looking hella over worked and mean as hell... She is rude as hell!!! When you ask her a question she acts like its a problem. Then she assumes and don't give you the right order. Me and my husband an daughter went there one day for the lunch special.
