my husband and I came here for the first time after driving by it many times. We were greeted nicely and we chose our own seats. The woman with a bandana was super sweet and took our drink order. then our waitress came and seemed nice while telling us about the menu since we were new. When she came back to take our order, I had asked for my bacon to be super well done and almost burnt since I love crispy bacon. I also ordered scrambled eggs and since I don't like my eggs wet, I asked if I could get that well done as well please. She stopped and looked at my husband and said , "Is she a good cook at home? Or is everything just burnt?" I was kind of shocked but didn't say anything. she left and then came back a little later because she forgot to ask me what type of toast I wanted. I had said white bread was fine please. and she responded, " Do you want that burnt too?" I paused for a moment and said , " just normal toasted...." She laughed and walked away. When our food came out, the woman said ," who got the burnt eggs?" at that point I was completely shocked at the rudeness and my husband even commented on how unprofessional and rude everything was. the food was fine, but my husbands eggs Benedict was undercooked. No one ever came back to check on our food or drop the bill. We asked if we are suppose to pay at the front and we're told our check would be dropped. No one ever came, so we walked to the front to pay. Our waitress asked how the food was and I said " It was okay," she asked what was wrong with it and I said, "it was fine." I wasn't going to complain because we weren't coming back again, there was no reason to bring up things we didn't enjoy. She then asked if her comments bothered me and it said, "It's fine," she kept pushing the conversation and said they like to have fun there. I then said, " One time I can understand, but when you kept pushing it, the multiple times was what made it a little frustrating." she then told me I needed to lighten up. She continued to be rude and not dropping it. we paid and walked out. she came out after us and tried to give me cash for the tip we left and stated that she doesn't want our money. Incredibly terrible experience. HIGHLY DO...

My boyfriend decided it would be cute to have a morning breakfast date at this location. It’s a very attractive little Dutch looking building in the middle of a very busy, sort of ugly part of auburn boulevard. As soon as we walked in I could sense this place was on the lower spectrum of food service. We were offered a table that had to be “wiped down” first, which consisted of the waitress quickly taking a wet cloth (no cleaner) and wiping down the remaining mess from the last customers. I was already unimpressed…this is pandemic time lady…wtf. But I decided to keep a positive outlook because my bf was excited to get out together without the kids. Anyways, the menus were jammed in the corner of the table, very grimy and dirty menus. The options were many. But the quality of the food was not adding up to the 40$ price tag at the end of our visit. The potatoes were undercooked, the cheese was of a fiesta blend out of a bag and was placed on top of my omelet and hardly melted. The coffee was extremely tasteless and watered down and by the time the waitress had filled my cup for the third time, there were coffee grounds floating in my cup. The staff was hella unsanitary…sneezing in their hands about twice without washing them. And the atmosphere consisted of dust, very old outdated decor that was falling apart, and a very very elderly crowd. All I’m saying is I wouldn’t recommend eating here if you’re afraid of getting sick, I also wouldn’t recommend eating here if you’re expecting 40$ to equal quality food. Other than that the waitress was nice, and I don’t know why this place is called a coffee house when the only coffee they offer is watered...

Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely fantastic. I had a classic breakfast of eggs, ham, and a short stack of pancakes, and everything was cooked to perfection. My wife went with the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, which was hearty, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a comforting breakfast. And let’s not forget the coffee—rich, smooth, and just right.
We enjoyed ourselves very much and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great breakfast or lunch spot. The Lodge Coffee Shop delivers on quality food, great service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer.
