I recently stumbled upon Isekai sushi restaurant during my visit to Tampa, and let me tell you, it was an absolute gem nestled on 5717 Gunn Hwy, Tampa, FL 33625. Now, let me preface this review by saying that I usually steer clear of sushi places due to my limited dietary preferences. Being allergic to shellfish and avoiding raw fish, pork, and red meat, my options at sushi joints are typically slim to none. However, Isekai shattered all my preconceptions about sushi dining.
From the moment I stepped in, I was warmly greeted by the owner and the entire staff. Their hospitality set the tone for an extraordinary dining experience. What truly sets Isekai apart is their unparalleled dedication to catering to all dietary needs. Not only did they have an extensive array of options for someone like me, but they also went above and beyond to accommodate any special requests. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast, a vegan, or a vegetarian, Isekai has something exceptional in store for you.
And let's talk about the food - it was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was crafted with precision and care, bursting with flavors that left my taste buds dancing with joy. The freshness of the ingredients truly shone through in every bite, showcasing the culinary mastery of the chefs. Plus, the prices were incredibly reasonable, making it a win-win situation.
What truly struck me about Isekai is that it's more than just a restaurant; it's a family-owned establishment where passion and love for food shine through in every dish. Their commitment to excellence and personalized service make every visit a memorable one. In fact, I was so impressed that I found myself back for a second time within just two days, armed with my camera to capture the experience and share it with others.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend Isekai sushi restaurant highly enough. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or someone with dietary restrictions like myself, this place is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars all...
Read moreJust for the record, I never leave reviews (good or bad) but I felt compelled to write a review for this establishment. Unfortunately I had a HORRIBLE experience. I have been a strict vegetarian my entire life (no meat/chicken/fish etc). I usually don't go to sushi restaurants because there are not a lot of options for vegetarians, but this place had a wider selection of vegetarian options. When the waitress asked for my order, I asked her if she wanted me to verbally tell her my order, or if I should just give her the paper menu that I marked with the pencil. She opted for the piece of paper. I ordered 2 vegetarian rolls.
When the first roll came out, some of the ingredients were missing but I didn't want to be a "Karen" so I ate it. I ordered a roll with mushroom and assumed that was what I was given. When the 2nd roll came out it had fish all over it and I said I didn't order that. That is when we discovered my entire order was wrong and the first roll I ate was actually EEL!! I immediately felt sick to my stomach.
The manager tried to smooth things over and I appreciated his apologies but when it came time to pay the bill he still charged me for one of my rolls. I thought the LEAST he could do was comp my entire order. It was a disaster and I will never go there again. I would not recommend this place for anyone who has dietary restrictions as they clearly are not scrupulous with...
Read moreIt’s so hard to find good sushi in Tampa Bay and this place exceeded my expectations! I drove all the way from downtown St Pete on a IG recommendation (that’s how little good options you have in this area unfortunately) and I was not disappointed. The staff and owner were very friendly and personable and the food was even better! I ordered the gyoza (this is fried and the filling is an in-house recipe pork filling, might be different from your regular gyoza but still yummy and worth trying), and had the Nigiri Flight which was amazing! I’ll let the picture speak for itself, but you need to come in and try it for yourself. The fish was fresh and each one was better than the other. I even loved the tamago (which they prepare in house) and I normally am not a fan of it. All the nigiri were well sized and super filling, I could have done without the dumplings and the salad, and still would have been more than satisfied. The place is also very well decorated and styled, I truly think they hit all the points with food, service, and ambience. You can tell the owner puts his heart and soul into this place and it shows in the food and your time there. It was a very pleasant experience and I am so happy to have...
