So, to be frank, the 3 star is based solely on my first experience ever eating from here dealing with delivery. Used door dash, and the pricing isn't justified. The food was good, but the portion size for the price was not really all that wonderful. The chicken bao bun (fried chicken thigh, cabbage, scallions, pickle, minano sauce) was delicious. I asked for no minano sauce because I wasn't sure what it was and said no pickle. The delivery option said there was mayo, and I left that option on. The funny thing is, it came without mayo, so I had to add some japanese BBQ sauce to it. But the piece of chicken was literally a sliver of meat and more breading than meat. It's almost like I got a piece of skin with barely any meat on it. So, as good as it was, missing the mayo, the amount of meat and the price didn't really seem justified for two buns with that little amount in it. The second thing was the machine ice cream. I asked for mango, strawberry, and chocolate. Instead, I got vanilla, strawberry, and something that tasted like oreo crumbs instead of chocolate ice cream. The spring rolls(their version) was the one thing that portion wise was ok, but again, for 3 pieces, I'd have said 5 to 6 dollars is more reasonable. Now, we get to the actual pricing. Just those three items cost 21 something. Now toss in the delivery fee and tax it jumps up to 30 something. Now, I chose to leave a tip. 42.09 or close to that is what I paid total for a delivery of those three items. Was the food good? Yes. Was the cost justifiable? No. Is this the type of restaurant to be paying 42 bucks for an app, sandwich, and ice cream? No. This isn't a high-end joint, but it's not low-end. It's definitely high end take out but there is nothing to be pricing items on level with hibachi grill joints. Would I order from here again? Most likely, but sadly, the tip will be the part that suffers. If the majority of my payment is comprised of taxes, fees, and overpriced food, what money would have been meant for a tip will not be available next time. I gave 35% on the total before taxes and fees were factored. 21 something add 7.50, plus the taxes and fees and boom 42.09 or so. The 7.50 and those taxes and fees came out to 22.00 pretty much. So, it's not that it's not within my range of pay. It's simply that the pricing is not justified, nor is the food worth that pricing. The tip will have to be simply less than 15% to make the pricing for everything you order justifiable. This is coming from someone who knows what it's like and seen it first hand dealing with tips. Saying this leaves a nasty taste in my mouth, but sadly, if they don't fix their pricing, this may very well become...
Read moreMy boyfriend recently got super into ramen, I’ve never had the real deal before. I looked up the closest spot to where we were running errands, and this was the first place to come up and the menu had pictures that looked delicious, and the reviews were so descriptive and awesome. I had a good feeling about it and we decided to go.
I can totally see why the reviews are so detailed, because it’s the type of restaurant that makes you want to take time to genuinely recommend! And this review will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know.
For starters, the ambiance is so welcoming and comfortable. The decorations are very well thought out and the attention to detail is noticeable. Whoever designed it really knew what they were doing! And they were playing great Christmas songs and it was just such an enjoyable vibe. this is coming from an anxious person who is sensitive to sensory discomforts such sounds, lighting etc.
And the food is SO tasty and even the presentation is a whole experience alone. They put their logo on the bowls for a reason, bc it almost feels illegal not to take a photo of the art on your plate!
The timing was perfect that we arrived (around 4) bc they had the $55 combo deal where it comes with any 2 bobas, 2 ramens, and 1 appetizer and 1 dessert. The prices online seem a little steep but they make it so easy to get a great deal! And the food comes out quick!
I got milk caramel Boba and my bf got coconut mango. We both liked them. we chose the Takovaki appetizer. I never tasted anything like that before and it was to die for, seriously! fried icecream for dessert- another first for me, and was so delicious. I wish I was was hungry enough to eat more! and for ramen, i got the Tempura Udon and my bf got the curry chicken. He loved his, and for me it was something to get used to, as it’s not the type of meal I’m used to eating. But for ramen enthusiasts, I think you will be totally satisfied. I think next time I’ll try one with skinnier noodles. My favorite part with mine was the fish cakes, those were really good! There’s something for everyone and the food overall is fantastic and not easily forgotten.
Last but not least, as you leave the restaurant they let you spin a wheel to win a free menu item or discount to redeem the next time you return. So cool and a great way to build loyal customers.
We will definitely be back and I highly recommend coming to experience...
Read more10/10 would highly recommend! I've only ordered take out at this restaurant and this is my first time having it delivered! The food and service are exceptional. They always ensure the cutlery is inside the bag which is greatly appreciated. It makes the experience that much better to know once you sit down you don't need to get back up for chopsticks or a spoon before you dive into this yummy bowl of goodness. I would say I'm a newbie to ramen and Minano has set the bar very high! When someone says they cook a broth for hours in the description you expect a flavorful broth. I'm here to say you can absolutely tell the broth is cooked for hours! The depth of flavor that is in the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen is unreal! Every flavor and textural element you could imagine is in this bowl! Now as far as the chili oil goes! Beware! In the best way possible! It's a little container of flavor and great heat. I learned my lesson since the first time I ordered. I caution anyone who uses the hot chili oil to taste as you go lol! My mouth was on fire the first time, but the ramen is so delicious I had to keep eating it. I would say this is my 5 time ordering from this place now, and after stirring the hot chili oil I add about 3 good chopsticks full into my bowl. I like spice so it's just enough heat but doesn't take away from the other amazing ingredients in the bowl. I call this ramen my...
