Came in at dinner time, ordered over the phone, while I stood outside. I Ordered a large cheese with mushrooms for $21 (yikes). Spoke to the cashier directly (masked) at the door--she said it would be 15 minutes and she'd bring the pizza out front.
45 minutes later she pokes her head out. "Did you order a mushroom pizza?" I said "Yes. Did it just come out". She answers "Yes".
I'm handed a pizza that was luke warm--likely sitting on a counter or wherever they sit pizzas. I'm not given paper plates or napkins--no apology for the pizza being 30 minutes late.
I'm reasonable--20 or 25 minutes--I can accept 10 extra minutes. An extra half hour because the staff forgot to poke their head out the door--Nah--not going back. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Most other places that tell me 15 minutes for a pizza have the pizza in my hands, hot from the oven so I have to let it cool to bite it etc--pretty standard pizza restaurant behavior.
No they were not overly busy. Most reviews on the google site for this pizza restaurant have the manager replying and explaining things to customers who cited problems. Glad to see replies from the manager but I'm beginning to think many customer complaints are spot-on. I'd just go elsewhere and get yourself a hot pizza at a better price (all the other places aren't jacking prices up wildly due to "Covid" or other concerns) Certainly at $21 one should get a HOT pizza and if it's running 30 minutes late-perhaps an apology --a free drink? I was sitting out in front of the building just a few feet from the front door. The food was late so I don't want to read that I'm nowhere to be found. I sat where I told her I'd be, as directed by the store's covid policy.
The manager did reply - below- (thanks and very promptly). I understand, even during non Covid about the cost of ingredients--good cheese, vegetables, sauces etc. I also understand about Green practices to reduce paper and other environmental detractors (good practice DC pizza). I do wish the worker had made an offer (and hopefully will do automatically in the future) to provide the drink, reheat or replace the pizza or simply said sorry. I was a friendly customer, even made comments when I ordered about finding me where I was told, right on the patio infront of the restaurant. She never poked her head out early to say the pizza was ready etc. I don't think they got behind as a few customers came in after us and ordered and left. I do appreciate, in spite of my review, your hard work during this difficult time. Best to you...
Read moreWe have ordered from DC’s several times and the pizza is always great. The wings, seem to fluctuate a bit however, our experience over the past weekend providing subpar quality on them. However, the biggest confusion was the pricing. Evidently when you order on their actual website or the DC’s app, it’s almost $8-$10 cheaper than ordering via the phone. In the past we have always priced out on the app and then called the order in, to be sure it was received and taken properly. Apparently phone orders and I’m guessing walk-ins are higher in price than the online and phone methods. Just seemed very confusing and staff were unable to provide clear information on why the prices differed. I can see ordering through a third party app having additional costs, but ordering a pickup order via the actual website vs. calling on the phone, should be more similar in price. At least note it on the website and phone app that specifically orders called in will cost you more. Are you even able to claim coupons using the online and phone app methods ?
Follow up to owner response. For clarification, attaching photos of the phone app used initially. As you can see the order is $51.48 before tax, with tax would be $55.60. When I called in the order by phone I was told the amount to be $63 and change. Not sure if that is with tax, but either way still a potential $7-$11 difference. The manager on duty Sunday night even stated it was more expensive to call in your order by phone than if you were to order on the app or website direct. Sounds like from the review before mine, perhaps additional training is needed...
Read moreMediocre pizzeria food, but what is BELOW average is the class and customer service of this place. They have NONE. We heard about their $1 slices of pizza they offer after 8PM, so decided to pick up a few slices for dinner.
However, I guess that money just wasn’t BIG enough. The guy getting ready to make our order got a nasty stare from his boss, and reverted on his assistance as he turned around to face us with a lie and stated, “We don’t have anymore cheese.” Hence, no $1 slices.
This was a bald face lie!
Nonetheless we spent our money elsewhere.
30 minutes after this incident, I called DC’s to confirm their LIE! I called and asked for a delivery for a large cheese pizza and chicken wings. Jamie, the guy on the phone, was more than ready to deliver my order. I confronted him about why we were just told they didn’t have cheese when we tried to order $1 slices but they do have cheese for a $30+ delivery?
He said, “are you going to order or not?”
Moral of the story, they were ready to deliver a $30+ delivery order, but wouldn’t satisfy the walk in special for $1 slices.
I guess business is slow. I am a successful business owner and I don’t treat my customers like this on my slow day!
I am disgusted with the manipulation that these employees are under to be rude and money hungry and will NEVER revisit. They could take this place off the corner...
