I wholeheartedly agree with the review by @George Jenkins. I came to this establishment with my husband and two friends. One friend was 74 years old. My elderly friend could not see the screen with the menu, so he touched it and tried to make it bigger. The bald gentleman with the beard chastised him and said, "Don't touch it." My friend explained that he could not see the screen, and the bald gentleman told him, "If you have a smartphone, you can look at the menu online." Really...Is a 74-year-old going to see a tiny phone screen better than a large touchscreen menu? It was a rude way to deal with an elderly customer. Apart from that, the bald gentleman came over and snatched the bag of napkins out of his hand when he was trying to grab one. Why? How could you treat an older man that way? I honestly did not like my coffee. It was weak, and the pistachio flavor was not noticeable, but my bad experience could have contributed to the bad taste in my mouth. I noticed a few people were treated kindly by the bald gentleman. They seemed to be from the LGBT community, but I cannot be sure. Either way, I am a black woman, and I volunteer heavily in the local community, so gender and race are of no importance to me, but neither is age. I wish no bad for this business but do better. PLEASE DO BETTER. Be truly inclusive. Treat all people with kindness and dignity, not just those who live, love, and look like you. My elderly friend told me he liked his coffee and the clean bathrooms, so I want to add those truths to my review. We will not be coming back here based on principle. I hope you guys can get a few larger print menus for the...
Read more"Bumbles" is the perfect name for this place: According to the dictionary "bumble" means to move or act in an awkward or confused manner, and it's ironic the owner chose this name, as it perfectly fits a lunch visit today. Ordered the veggie breakfast wrap with hummus, and here's a rundown of ingredients: tons of lettuce (though not listed as an ingredient), tons of red onion, a few spinach leaves, literally a couple of pieces of chopped bell pepper, a few pieces of chopped tomato, a couple of small pieces of avocado, and if there was any hummus it must have been gently smeared on the wrap because a faint taste was detected occasionally....essentially $9 bought lettuce and onion in a whole wheat wrap (way to bumble a "healthy food option" Mr. Bumble.....FYI hummus is good for you and need not be applied lightly). While visiting and talking with a dear friend, in a "neighborhood" business where lingering is supposedly encouraged, staff started vacuuming LOUDLY at 2:pm despite the 4:pm closing time (So 2 hours before closing it was difficult to carry on a conversation....way to respect customers in your establishment Mr. Bumble). A 2 star review is given only because dining companion's "stylin' house salad" was an uninspired salad that at least had all the ingredients advertised.....but certainly not "unbeelievable" in any way. Very...
Read moreI am suprised by the high rating of this place. At first glance it seems like a really cool spot with fresh food made to order. But the guy working there was not friendly at all and acted very judgy. I could get over that easily if the food was good, but it wasn't. I got sausage/egg/cheese on a bagel. The bagels came from a plastic sleeve and were mushy even after being toasted. He asked how i wanted the eggs cooked, acknowedged my response, but in the end completely ignored it. He completely overcooked the egg in a dish in an convection oven with the cheapest fake american cheese on top. Also, i asked for 2 eggs and only got one. It felt like he judged me immediately upon walking in and barely listen to my order. I will never go back, not just because the food was mediocre, but more so because I was made to feel unwelcome. Still looking for a decent bagel or breakfast sandwich in Albany. This place ain't it.
Edit: the reply of the owner to this post only solidifies my initial impression of this place. My...
