First time visit for us (my wife & I and another couple) last night, and we're not sure what all the hype is about. Situated nicely on the "New Scotland Strip", their menu certainly looks promising and some of the food may be good - but judging by our meals that seems rather unlikely. After we were seated outside, server appeared seconds after menus arrived so we didn't have time to peruse even the drink offerings. When asked what they had on tap he replied "...well, they're all listed on the menu in your hand". As we continued to sort through beer offerings I asked while still reading if they had Guinness on tap and he said yes - though it wasn't listed on the menu (so much for all the draft beers being listed on the menu in our hands). After that quick visit, for the balance of the evening he would disappear for 20 to 30 minutes at a time, including 30 minutes after another drink order was placed.....so service gets a C- on this night. We were told they smoke their own brisket every day in the back, so 3 of us ordered brisket sandwiches. The Adirondack Dip looked nice as a large toasted roll cut in half & covered w/melted swiss cheese. But once you moved the swiss cheese, there were only 5 or 6 small mouth-sized pieces of dry, chewy, overcooked (poorly smoked) meat on each 1/2 sandwich. The horseradish sauce was virtually undetectable, and for $17 this "sandwich" is way overpriced. Needless to say, the other brisket sandwich described as "beef brisket piled high..." failed miserably in meeting that description. The 4th sandwich was a cuban pressed sandwich: they must have left out the "pressed" part, there was virtually no spicy mustard, and though the pork was more tender than the brisket it had virtually no flavor. Moral of the story here is don't believe the hype, and choose carefully....its probably harder to mess up a hamburger or mac & cheese........
EDIT: Whoops! I neglected to read reviews for New Scotland location prior to posting the above review. I guess all the hype I was aware of is for Latham site.....poor reviews on service and food for this location make sense and back up our experience...
Read moreI had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. I worked on my house all day and simply wanted to go out and have a beer and a sandwich to reward myself. Things started out great. My boyfriend and I got a beer and the cheese curds right off the bat. The cheese curds were delicious and they came out quickly. When the beers arrived we ordered our entrees. We ordered the black and bleu burger and the Adirondack dip. About 20 minutes after we ordered, our server came over to tell me that they did not have any more baguettes and it would be served on 2 hamburger buns instead, I said that was fine. Then about 10 minutes after that he came over to tell me that they were out of sautéed onions and ask me if I wanted raw red onions or no onions. I asked if they could sauté the red onions and hw said no, they were pickled. So I said I wanted no onions. I contemplated changing my order but it was already taking so long that I didn’t want to hold anything up and I would just deal. Another 10 minutes later he finally brings out my meal and my meal only. It was missing the au jus and the horseradish sauce and asked for it to be brought out. I also asked where my boyfriends burger was. He said it would be several more minutes. It is insane that you would serve one persons meal and not the other. At that point we were so disappointed that we just asked for the burger and my sandwich to go. When we got home and ate our food, the burger was mediocre at best. My sandwich looked/tasted like they put dog food on a baguette (which they said they didn’t have) and was falling apart and had no flavor what so ever. We wasted $62.00, after the server comped our beers for the kitchen being out of half the ingredients to make this sandwich and such a long wait time, and ended up making tamed for dinner. I do not recommend and will never go back. What...
Read moreLet me preface this with the fact that we love Tipsy Moose. We’ve been coming here for so many years and I’ve always had a great experience, food, drinks and service. However, as of today 3/8/25 at 1pm I wish I could give this a 0/5 stars. I’m not sure if the servers were training or what was the deal but the service was TERRIBLE. The bartender and waitress were unfriendly. We haven’t been here in a long time and were excited to come here today with family to have drinks and lunch. We ordered our drinks and watched the waitress and bartender talking for 10 minutes while our drinks sat on the service bar before she brought them over. We ordered our food and only one person’s food came out and it was lukewarm, and we never even saw the other food that we ordered hit the table. We had empty drinks. We were waiting for her to come back to refill them. So we asked her to bring us our check and when she did, it had the food on it that we didn’t even get. I said “thank you” to her, and she gave me a dirty look and did not mutter a single word out of her mouth. No apologizing or customer service whatsoever. Needless to say we likely won’t ever be back....
